Best heavy metal of the decade

There was one good opening to a song. Then it turned into the same stuff they've done for the past 15 years all mixed together... Which is surprisingly even worse than all of their bad albums alone.

 

I don't know about the best album of decade but I know who my best band of the decade is. I know their 1st album came out in 1998 but I didnt hear it until a couple of years later. I still remember how blown away I was by System of a Down's first album. They have come out with 3 cracking albums since.previous to that first album, I had always heard bands who confined themselves within their own narrow style , be it thrash, death or whatever. these guys were all over the place both musically and lyrically. When I listen to more recent bands mixing styles within their songs, i cant help thinking that SOAD broke that mould.

My favourie album of 2009 , by the way,...The Age of Nero by Satyricon. From Afar by Ensiferum was fun also.

Worlds most laughable metal band... Never in my life have I seen more fakeness in music than in that band.

I would rather listen to Enter Sandman for all of eternity then have to listen to Devil Driver.. And I hate Enter Sandman.

And why the hell is Sonic Boom by Kiss there.... Kiss's original albums are like my one of my favourite things of all time but the new album is shit. There's only like 2 songs I like on it. And I don't even listen to them anymore.

Thats tough, theres a lot of good metal out there, but for me, discovering ISIS while they toured with TOOL while I was on 5 grams of psilocybin, they take best metal of the decade for me.

Agalloch, Drudkh, Electric Wizard, Finntroll, Pagan Altar (great comeback) Skyforger, Taake, Urgehal, Reverend Bizarre and Witch (for their superb debut, second album wasn't really impressive). I probably forget a few good ones of course and tried to leave out a lot of 'second best' stuff like Jex Thoth, Bongzilla or a band like Black Label Society
