Things that Peeve me off

Wasteing paper, when I see someone crumbleing up a piece of paper in their hands it makes me shiver. When someone's brushing their teeth and they let the water run the entire time. When people wash their clothes with warm water. When people run their dishwashers when they're not full. Simple little things that everyone can do that make a difference. But it's shrugged off.

 

It's shrugged off because it won't make a difference.

 

Well thats just not true. Little things can sure make little differences. Small progress is still progress.
A great example is I save paper towels from drying my hands. When I have to clean something funky instead of using a roll of towels I have a 5 gallon pail of paper towels that would be in the garbage.
This puts 30 cents in my pocket that wont finance paper production.
Even better, I use a hand towel most of the time.

 

Well I use hand towels all the time, which I guess makes me an environmental warrior.

But actually they just dry your hands a lot better than paper towel.

 

The point really is, yes we are pretty fucked but we cannot give up hope of being able to make a difference.
Being wasteful is contaigous. If everyone changed something to help the cause of improving the quality of life. I really think we would be able to notice, somehow or someway.
Realistic? No. Maybe wishful is a good word for that.

 

The problem I have with all this is that the blame for environmental problems is put on the common people, when the overwhelming bulk of damage is being done by industrial giants. Take global warming as an example (I don't believe global warming is being caused by humans, but it's the best example). If CO2 were doing great damage to the environment, changing your light bulbs isn't going to make any difference with the thousands of tons of CO2 being produced by industry every day. If we did want to make any difference, that would be where we'd need to focus our attention -- not on turning off the water while we brush our teeth. C'mon.

 

There're almost 6.8 billion people on the planet. If everyone of these people consumed only what they need (knowing that many, if not most, do, and not by choice), then these industrial giants would pretty soon find themselves being forced to reduce their production of utter crapola and would not have such a monumental output of CO2.

Global warming caused by humans may turn out to be bullshit, but if not, we will kill ourselves through inaction.

The fact you have the ability/free time means you're consuming much more then almost anyone in the world.

You know what pisses me off. When people waste fossil fuels to rant online about how wasting fossil fuels peeves them off. Quite frankly I have a lot of repressed anger...........!!

 

Anger is an expression of an unresolved fight or flight response. Anger is a waste of time. Shit or get off the pot. Make your peace with the world. If you're going to kill them, kill them. If you are going to love them, love them. Just remember as you do to them you also do to yourself.

 

Actually the expression of an unresolved fight or flight response is adrenal fatigue syndrome. Anger is a useful emotion, all of our emotions are there for a reason.

 

As with all emotions, it isn't the emotion itself that is a problem, it is the uncontrolled emotion that is.

 

I think it much of an assumption to say that IG's would reduce production, assuming but not conceding that everyone in the world would consume what they would need.

 

Over eating is wasteful.

 

I REALLY hate ignorant people on youtube. I can't say how many times I would watch some videos titled "3D animation of ..." or "historic parody of..." only to have people comment "FAKE! This isn't even real!". Or when there is some political parody and people get involved in these heated political discussions to a video of barak obama rapping against mccain.

Anyway so I decided to make the ultimate antri-trolling post and made a video of the "history of australia", and talked complete rubbish the whole time. Now every day I get messages from people telling me how "stupid" I am... Then I pretend to be an idiot until they notice there's a "THIS IS A JOKE" next to the title of my video, then I never hear from them again. It's like free revenge in my mailbox every day....

Actually now that I think of it that's probably just ordinary trolling. Oh well.

Yeah so that's what I hate. That's actually why I joined this forum, to write that. I dunno I guess I'm bored.
