you are seriously fucking saying avatar? SERIOUSLY? that movie is simplistic, overlong, predictable, soap opera, inconsistent, poorly produced CRAP they spend that much on a fucking movie, and they can't even maintain continuity between shots, let alone design the movie with any sort of decency trash movie.
damnit, I am supposed to see that movie Friday night. My sister and good friend both said the story was lame and the acting and dialogue were bad. They said the special effects were so good that it made up for the rest of the movie. That's how I feel about the second matrix movie.
One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest was indeed a great movie. Rosemary's Baby Stay - (that is one surreal movie) Misery Cool Hand Luke
Don't listen to that guy. He mistakes complaining about everything for being counter cultural. Notice he didn't list any favorites. Avatar's acting was solid, and the story was a standard fable. The dialogue was god awful. But it's James Cameron. He won a dozen oscars for Titanic, and the last third of that movie was people running around a boat screaming "Jack... Jack... Rose... Jack" Avatar isn't just sweet special effects, it's complete visceral immersion.
i heard 'avatar' is just 'pocahontas'... and it's just an average movie without the new 3-D effects..
waking life was cool. so was a scanner darkly. and so was that wallace and grommit movie with the rabbits .... curse of the were rabbit. t2, garden state, and king of kong. the nightmare on elm street movies. and sleepaway camp 1. the devils rejects.
And Pocahontas was just cartoon Dances With Wolves. ...Or the Last Samurai. There are only like 12 stories which are just retold with different characters. All literature/drama/film obeys this rule. http://www.amazon.com/Seven-Basic-Plots-Tell-Stories/dp/0826452094"]Amazon.com: The Seven Basic Plots: Why We Tell Stories (9780826452092): Christopher Booker: Books
