Tripping at a Rave...

Anyone here dropped acid at a rave, what was your experience tripping at a rave?

Enlighten me I am going to a rave this weekend.

i took two hits of really strong liq dropped on rolaids (yeah it was an older hippie that dosed me) at a psychedelic/acid house rave. It was in a smaller warehouse that was really this dude's place that he lived. It was furnished but still large enough to hold a decent sized party. The deco was mostly a lot of UV tapestries, prayer flags, chakra posters, black lights and things like that because the party was called "the heart chakra". I danced hardcore all night, each dj played a really good set. It was fun to take breaks to talk with people outside. Lots of folks were dressed up crazy and people were tripping and all sorts of fucked up. At about 3 am a shitload of people poured in after the clubs left out and i was still trippin. my friend wanted to leave so we all went back to my homie's house and i was still frying hardcore. they took me back to my dorm and i couldnt sleep for shit so i just went for a walk to this historic cemetary to chill. i dint really come down till about 10 am.

 

I candyflip regularly at raves, but last time I only took acid at a rave was mind-blowing.

It was a drum'n'bass party, very big event with 2 rooms, projectors, screens, MC's and such. I danced like there was no tomorrow for most of the party and had several OOBE's throughout the night. One of them was particularly intense. I felt my whole body vibrate to the music then I had the feeling I could see all around my head. It's hard to explain, I felt that I had no sight limitation, unlike most of the time when I can only see what is framed in my glasses. At this moment I couldn't feel my body at all and felt like my spirit was flying all across the room but still had control over my body, as if it was a puppet or something. It was a strange but really pleasant experience.

 

When I used to go to raves when I was younger I dropped all the time! I really like candy flipping at raves too. I used to carry a vial with me all the time in those days.

 

god-damn, can anyone point me in a direction of how i could possibly find any underground raves? any kind of underground inter-networks that someone could link me to? i'd love to rave man.

 

candy flipping is the best thing for raves!!! on acid, the lights are beautiful the music will move you and you will feel interconnected...add some molly and you will literally make the experience one of the best of your lives. connecting with people mentally, physically, with a simple touch, the glimpse of an eye

straight euphoria and a blissfully aware mind = perfection for raves

not to say acid wouldn't be fun, but i think molly will help bring you closer to everyone there, moreso than with acid alone...i hope that makes sense haha

 

It does GV, MDMA at raves is the bestest. Mixed with psychs is even better.

Once you get into the scene, all you can do is get hundreds of hus and backrubs and awesome ppl to trip with.

As for finding a rave, I know ppl on myspace advertise alot for events. We post flyers at coffe shops, vinyl shops, music shops... Look for dem.

But fuck, I haven't been to a rave in over 6 years... I miss them alot. I am a summer festival goer now, they are more my style. Too many young ppl go to raves and fuck it all up starting fights and shit. At least ppl aren't dumb enough to start a fight at a HA festival

 

I candy flipped at Together as One last year and it was pretty meh.

I was worried before hand because I'm anti-social and I don't really like people, but then again I'm terrific at just flat out ignoring people so it didn't turn out to be a problem at all.

I did however hate those people who spin lights around and give "shows".. fuck you, that shit is annoying, gtfo of my face.. Assholes..

I was SO much more interested in staring off into the rafters/ceiling of the venue, than some fucking douchebag with glowsticks/LED rings 6 inches from my face. so annoying.. like really.. who does that? Anyone here into that shit? If so, FUCK YOU, DIE IN A FIRE!!

on the 3rd hand, from far away a whole crowd of people doing that is snazzy looking, even when sober so.. Rock on glowstick fags*.. just stay the fuck away from me.


*no offense intended to actual homosexuals.. Gay people are cool.. When I say "fag" i mean someone who is just a fucking worthless individual, regardless of sexual orientation.

 

i can see being annoyed if you are clearly not in the mood for a light show...but some people beg for it...man this post is full of negative energy...maybe eat some molly and feel the love next time

ravelinks is terrible though it's a start.

i would check out clubs and find the big promoters in your city. make facebook friends with the local ravers and see what events they are attending. if you are in the midwest there are several crews that throw outdoor parties in the summer. Mindoutpsyde, Chilluminati, Audiognomes, just to name a few. they are a bit more on the underground circuit though and cater more to fans of psytrance and similar genres.

I miss spinning poi at raves, and getting to spin fire out in the parking lot That's all I do at night during festivals now, walk around with my fire... And sometimes add glowsticks..

 

im pretty good with glowsticks and im learning to hoop right now, but i also want to try poi...i think i could be bad ass

how long did it take you to pick up, like get a pretty good flow goin?

 

It didn't take me long at all to learn, but I pick everything up really quick. No matter what I want to learn. I spun glowstick poi for 3 years before I took on fire. I add lights to my fire strings which is REALLY fun, I have yet to see someone else do it.

Fire hoop is a blast on psychs, you're hooping in a vortex of fire...

I am pretty new to hooping, but next summer I plan to practice a whole bunch. It's such a great workout and makes your body flow so smoothly.

 

very nice...i have a feeling poi will come quicker than hooping does. Man but hooping is beautiful cuz it's all about the circle. i cant wait for it to get warmer so i can practice more as well. i have no place to do it inside and layers just fuck with the flow of the hoop

i think im gonna figure out how to make some homemade poi (a friend of mine told me how with socks) so i can start that...poi is beautiful, hell its all beautiful

 

I learned tying glowsticks to shoe strings, I still do it that way when I use glowsticks. If you wanna spend the money for different kinds of poi you can though. Shoe strings are easy to find, and cheap I am a little different, I let the length of the strings go all the way to the ground. Normal poi is like 1/2 way I think. The extra length allows me to put up to 5 glowstick / glow devices on one string. That's when the lights get full of rainbow epicness.. I make my own poi stuff, like a tennis ball with the flowing fabric, and I use a fishing swivel to connect it to the string. It's a bunch of fun, and it does suck you can only do it in the summer. I don't have room in my house either.

 

i actually think i have everything i need...i have some unused neon green shoe laces i just need to get one more pair...but um my only question for now is how much is a good weight? i will be using rice (just a heads up, unles you have better suggestions...maybe a tennis ball) thanks im eager to try this out
