She has been on the Ellen Degeneres show 6 times with the last being today, played for GWB at the White House, was the youngest pianist ever at multiple festivals, is called the next Mozart, and is STILL 8 years old. Oh and she is from Rockford Illinois, represent lol. Just informing everyone out there about this magnificently talented girl if they don't already know. Oh me either, especially since the environment she is growing up in is terrible. Her dad is one of the BIGGEST asshole snobby doctors I know, why do you think she was given the best piano teachers possible at age 5? lol I wish I could find footage of it, but she played with my friends jazz group awhile back and it was phenomenal as my one friend is the best saxophonist I have ever heard, no doubt. He actually got like a .5 or .6 in high school for his senior GPA, but he got a full ride to college and gets paid as a full-time marching band coach because of how fucking excellent he is haha.
Prodigies are a dime a dozen, and I prefer chess prodigies because I like chess Oh, and comparing her to Mozart is ridiculous.
I wasn't the one who called her the next Mozart, but plenty of newspapers, magazines, and professional music critics have . She is 8 years old and has composed over 350 full songs, not saying she's the new mozart, but that deserves some serious respect
That is definitely prodigy level playing but I've always wondered how her brain was able to understand music at such a young age. ANYONE can get that good at playing an instrument if they practice non stop but being able to understand and apply complex music theory is what separates the practice from the prodigy. It will be interesting to see just how much better she gets as she gets older. I've always thought there were some people that were instantly able to pick up music like that, even at a young age.
^I agree.. It baffles me how she can understand music so well at that young of age. She can even compose music! How does she do that!
