Went back to school and earned my degree in nursing. Passed my boards and earned my RN. Now have a $100,000 home, car, big screen, ect. Wife, son, dog and baby on the way. Work hard.
If you don't want to pay that much get a roomate then you only have to pay half of what you would pay.
I was 21 when I first got my own place, it was an apartment on the third floor. It cost 575 but it was real nice, and not far from the city center. Other than my mother helping on the security deposit, I paid every month of rent, for almost three years with work (while I went to school.) Scholarships were the one thing that always helped me stay ahead, because I ate good food which chewed into my wallet big time. Also sometimes had good beer, but didn't spend on much else. Was even able to save for a few Euro-trips and France only trips. Again, thanks scholarships!
I've been living in and out of my truck since I was seventeen, for the most part. Got an apartment in April of this year. Rent was $200 for me, utilities were $25, cell bill's $60, $20 on gas and $30 on groceries every week. I made it work. Moved out of that apartment, lived back in my truck til October, got another apartment. Rent was $180. Same deal, $60 cell bill, $50 to gas and food weekly. I don't remember the last time my BIWEEKLY paycheck was more than $350. Unless yr paying child support, you should have NO problem living on yr own. Stop smoking chronic.
No, the rent in my first apartment was $715, split three ways. The rent in the second was $400, split two ways.
I lived inside the grandfather clock of a parlor. Got another discount too by winding the clock regularly. .
I moved out after I got my AA. I was 21. Moved in with my boyfriend. Moved back home when that all went to shit. Moved with my friend to Colorado a year later. I had a really good job and my parents helped me out a lot. I didn't have to pay them rent, so saving up was easy. I tend to live very simply, though. I'm not big on spending money on much more than books. I wasn't a drinker, smoker or chronic shopper. Go without tv, keep the cheap Internet and sell off everything you have that you don't need. That helps a lot.
a whole house just to hang one poster in? my wife and i had a house to ourselves for a number of years before she up and died on me six months ago. rented that is. last time i lived in a house that was owned by someone living in it was when my parents where buying the last place we lived in colfax when i was in high school. pretty much always lived in rentals before and since. with the exception of the relatively few times i've lived in shelters or out in the woods. right now i'm living in a rental house shared by at the moment four or five of us. four of us pretty much all of the time, and the fifth one being the appearent fiance of the primary renter who also gets mail addressed here but doesn't seem to stay here all of the time.
