Greetings, So, I am in the process of cleaning out my basement and I am on a big push to purge some of my old crap that I don't use or will not use. One of the things I have been draging around with me for very many years has been my collection of movie posters. I was a movie theater manager for about 3 years between 1988 to 1991 and I have like 200 posters from that time. Some of the posters are from before that time and a few after as well. Some loose other posters that I collected. I still want to keep some choice ones but I am going to get rid of the rest. Now, not all of these movies are very good ones but they were all main stream movies. I also have several block buster movies from that time as well. Some of those I will keep. So, I was going to pitch them in the garbage but my friend suggested that I sell them on ebay. Now I have an account and have used it before. I also went online and searched prices and some I might get some good money for while others I would be lucky to sell for $5.00. Do you guys think this would be a huge waste of time or should I go for it? I still have not gone through them but when I do I will have to put a list together and then post the pictures on ebay. I just feel the market is not as good as it used to be and I am concerned it will be a lot of effort for not a lot of return. Some examples I can remember off the top of my head are: Memphis Belle Highlander: The Quickening Awakenings Stuff like that. Thoughts?
Not sure, probably better than throwing them away at least. Post some more of the movies you have. You got any Batman, Die Hard, Naked Gun, or Ghostbuster II posters? I'd buy those haha.
Give them away rather than throw them away. Selling them would be good if it is no hassle. I mean do you have to run out and ship each poster you sell?
Ok, here is the deal. I will go through them and put up a list. If anyone wants them I will only charge you for shipping and materials for shiping, which if I use FexEx it would be included so otherwise, I will be giving them away. I should be able to do this by next week. I have some really good posters but those might just stay in my own personal collection. For example I do have a Terminator 2 and some Batman and I even have a Return of The Jedi advance one sheet. I worked in movie theathers all through High School as well. Hell, I have a Ferris Buler's Day Off Poster that I plan on keeping. Anyway, I think I am going to do a combination of ways of getting rid of them. I will keep some, then put a list up for everyone here. Any takers and I will send them out but otherwise I might try to sell a few and then throw away the junk.
you could make a post on craigslist with a list of the posters and maybe links to pictures of them and just have it say movie posters for best offer and just see what emails you get...bit less of a hassle than ebay
