Elementary logic course? As long as you're not completely retarded you should be able to make that connection.

    Haha... If you're talking about him being a faggot, I don't mean he's a homosexual, I mean he's a dick. And when I say he's a dick, I dont mean he is a penis that can type, I mean he's a douchbag.

Christians and the religious are THE most racist (in the pure meaning of the word) that I have ever dealt with.

It's true, because they are in denial of what they are, they deny their animalistic ancestry. This is why they can not accept evolution. They think survival instincts are evil. You must accept what you really are to take control of your life. All the religious do is surrender their will to their organized ignorance. They adopt false righteousness based on flawed concepts that moral behavior can only be learned from a book with subliminal messages like a savior who died so you can sin.

What does this have to do with racism? Some of the most effective civil rights leaders (e.g., Dr. Martin Luther King, were Christians. Many Christians, certainly most outside the United States, accept evolution. Speaking of organized ignorance, did you think this through before you posted it?

and many christians don't so what's your point.

Some places take religious text so literally that they execute girls for being raped of their virginity. But not all religious are that extreme so we must never speak of such things.

Ok, so unless its completely black and white, 100% or 0% we shouldn't bring it up because some people cant process the relevance of any miserable reality in between.

My point is that you seem to be over-generalizing. If you make general statements about African-Americans, women, gays, etc., as having this or that negative characteristic, it would be taken to mean all or most of them, and would be offensive stereotyping. Same goes for statements about Christians. I certainly know Christians, even in these forums, who have some of the characteristics you complain about, and strike me as dangerously loony. A lot of so-called Christians are latter day Pharisees, especially the ones who put themselves forward as Christian leaders in arenas of national power and on TV. In fact, I find them much harder to take than a lot of atheists I know. But I certainly know a lot of decent Christians who are living up to the teachings and example of Jesus, which I take as unconditional love of others, including society's rejects.

I highly disagree with the signature of the person two posts above me.

And find myself chuckling at the irony.

People find certainty where they can: some find it in religion, some in atheism. Both are an easy way of ignoring the fact that we simply don't know the answers.

are you not judging atheists by claiming they are all racists?

just a question to ponder over..

EDIT- oh and it seems as if you may be a hypocritical christian. but then i'd be judging you and thats not right because i believe in God.

I am an Atheist, and know many Atheists in the area where I live. One of the Atheist meet up groups in the RTP/Raleigh area has crossed the 1000 members mark this month. With the members of this group that I know, I would say none of them show signs of being prejudice. The only thing I see they all dislike is organized religion; which I don’t see as prejudice because they have good reason not to trust todays batch of right wind christians. Being from the southern US I also know many religious people. I do know lots who are prejudice against other races, gays, other religions, Atheist, other Christians, and almost anything you can think of. Religion may have a monopoly on the bigot market.

I agree with everything but your last sentence. There are lots of active atheists in Oklahoma, too, and although atheism supposedly is just the absence of belief in God, most of the ones I know seem to be social liberals, meaning tolerant of racial and ethnic minorities, and accepting of gays. Not tolerant of religion, though. Intolerance of religion technically isn't racism, although I think it's a related phenomenon that can be just as damaging.

Just because I don't believe in a book that tells me I need to love everyone equally, does not mean that I do not love everyone equally.
