A barefooter has put up videos of her barefooting, and some very interesting commentary about going barefoot into different places. To me, she seems like a true barefooter. She posted it 2 weeks ago, so maybe everyone has already seen it. There are 6-7 clips, maybe more and they are between 5 and 10 min. Very interesting, you should take a look. It's called Melissa's Dirty Sole Adventures if you are keen to look. Big thanks to her and her husband for putting together this wonderful work. Good day!
hows it going? here is one where she starts in a thrift store (?). She gives a great interview in this one too. A lot of the questions that are often asked on this forum about reactions, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbMW8oc-foc
This is Melissa, a great inspiration. She moderates a Yahoo group at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/barefootlifestyle/ :cheers2:
her yahoo group "barefoot lifestyle" is a wonderful group with varied barefoot stories, pictures, etc. i have been a member for years and i encourage any interested barefoot to join.
Hey! Thanks for the info. I have seen so many pictures sprinkled throughout different barefootin websites of Melissa. And then to see her do such a well thought out and thorough journal is a great thing. I'd love to read some more about her experiences that she didn't cover in her video journals. Take care!
Definitely a barefooter - but part time. Brought her shoes with her and used them sometimes - such as when the floor was cold. I believe many of us would have left the shoes home and gone barefoot the whole time (this describes me at any rate). She did get her feet wonderfully black! The Yahoo group is limited and doesn't have nearly the content hip forums does (from my perspective). What do the rest of you think?

I logged into the wrong one. There is one with an almost identical name. You are right, this one is good: (the url that Barefoot Guy gave us) http://groups.yahoo.com/group/barefootlifestyle
First, thanks to barefooted_in_iowa for starting this thread and providing the link. I like how open Melissa is about her barefoot life and sharing it on video. I'm also a member of the barefootlifestyle group on Yahoo. Reading some of her posts, particularly the early ones, it sounded like she rarely wore shoes. She even talked about a two week vacation she went on and only took shoes to wear briefly when she went to a wedding. Like bftEd, I was surprised at the number of references in the video to slipping off her shoe(s) in a store, etc. I guess everyone has his/her own practice. As for me, I don't take shoes with me. Keeping track of my public excursions, I feel I need to enter barefoot, conduct any and all business barefoot, and leave barefoot, for me to include it on my list. Nonetheless, Melissa is a lot bolder than the average barefooter. I was surprised at the end when she indicated she'd never been into a McDonald's barefoot. I don't go there regularly, but I figured I had to go there barefoot at least a few times since McDonald's is so "representative" of the American culture (not that it's a good thing, but a fact nonetheless). As for the Yahoo forum, it lacks the organization of the Hip Forums, but it's good to hear other people's stories, perspectives, etc. in any forum.
You're right in that the Yahoo group is limited compared with Hip Forums. But, it does provide some interesting information and stories plus they don't allow the same kind of negative stuff that occasionally crops up on Hip Forums, which I personally find refreshing.
i remember when i started going barefoot as long you spend the less you feel bother about it on someone elses looks,so now its natural for me,,,its about set yourselft free, mind spirit earth all flowing trought what you are, you gain selftconfidence, and feel in touch with the energy of the earth.
