i mean that everytime i go on infowars my heart starts to race and i panic. the stories are sensationalized like that. you notice the infowars site only offers one explanation for amending the EO, hes taking our rights, taking over the country, globalization, socialism yada yada. there is no other opinion. they want you to feel that panic, because its a passion that furthers their opinion. doesnt mean they are right to the exclusion of other opinions. i have to trade off between infowars and George Carlin videos, otherwise i start freaking out. i do have to watch my health you know.
oh, and i wasnt refering to the videos being spun, video is what it is, and up for interpretation by the viewer. those videos are frustrating, but our right is to lawful assembly, and in a public place that requires a permit, adherence to times (this park closes at 10pm) and other such things.
I dont think to many of there articles are written like that. The information should scare you to an extent unless you like tyranny and the crumbling of our constitution.
yeah but its pretty messed up they have a militarized police force ready to fuck you up just for protesting.
it is remarkably fucked up. no matter which way you spin it, most people agree that the feces has been flung, it just hasn't actually hit the fan yet. there is some badness coming. i do credit alex jones for saying "do your own research" most of the time. but a lot of people do not. most people cleave to one opinion, or one source.
thats what most people do in this country, they go by the opinion of someone they trust without actually researching any of it to find out if its actually true.
Well- when the facts exist in the form of proposed legislation they are deliberately made voluminous so most regular folks will not be willing to go through them... there's no condensed plain English translation to educate the masses- whom most in Congress likely look at as a tax money garden and they likely look at us the way we look at a herd of cattle. You see, that was MY spin! There's little that I have the inclination (or time) to research as thoroughly as I should in order to render a truly informed opinion of... I have to rely on the "news" and I try to take in the voices It strikes me that administration had an opportunity to spin this as a move to fight international terrorism which is a good enough of a sales pitch that middle America would digest it more favorably and blunt a bit of the criticism that is deserved in this case. Signing such an agreement with such secrecy suggests to me that he knows exactly what he's doing and by potentially compromising the country's sovereignty, could well be guilty of high treason... and not the good kind of high.
(i just want to point out that this thread represents an oddity, a completely civil conversation in the stoners lounge. im glad i could be a part of it )
united states is the only country where you can see people ride those electric skooter things for old people merely because theyr too fat to walk
