I was being a tad over-generalised. I do appreciate some people put a lot of effort into their look. I still do think it is full of broken ideas, or more precisely, a bunch of clichés. The whole concept needs to either die or be refreshed. IMHO, it's totally stale now... ...Here it just seems like something young kids do, or sad loners do.
The difference between emo chicks and normal chicks is a few collars and some black eyeliner. I'm with Odon... it's a kids scene. But suicide girls does raise a good point.
I'm not disagreeing. I was implying that the style can be kinda hot. Now that I'm in my 20's I don't think I know a single goth girl.
It can be, if the girl is hot to begin with. I actually had a little thing going on with an "emo" girl in England. She was a cool person so I just disregarded the fact that she listened to shitty, derivative music and blindly followed a one of the lamest subcultures in existence. She was also insanely beautiful and she had a vagina. Vagina conquers all.
Emo girls would win in a fight with norm girls because they like the pain and it makes them stronger. idk
It also seems though that the emo girls wouldn't be good at fighting because they are so busy being depressed. Maybe.
lady gaga's penis fell out of her skirt while she was getting off a motorcycle on stage at glastonbury this summer. and norm girls would win the fight. they would start pulling the hair of the emo girls, who would get really upset by this and start crying. the tears would smudge thier eye liners which would make them even more sad, and since they left thier bags in the car because they knew they would be fighting, none of them have a compact with them and cant fix their makup so they would just crack open a lady bic slice open thier arms. this of course could cause a surge of emotion in the normal girls who would then turn to drugs, alchohol and promiscious sex with multiple partners leading to a life of humiliation, diseases and self loathing in the end who really wins?
its funny when people argue about emos not being different when normal people dress the same as everyone else how boring do they think there original?fucking hypocrites
I wear jeans, shirts, trainers and sometimes a hoody. I might wear a red shirt, I might wear a white shirt, I might even go mad and wear a blue shirt. It isn't particularly original, no. I imagine many people wear similar things. The difference is, "emo" is an orchestrated look, and they have to stick to that at all times. They can't cut their hair differently. They can't go mad and wear a Hawaiian shirt. They can't wear particular colours. They have to listen to certain types of music They have to adopt a particular attitude. You might even have to not have a problem in hugging your male/female friends, and telling them about your emotions. Heaven forbid your arms be free of cuts. Non of it is natural, it isn't a free expression of "who they are." It's a fashion statement, and a pretty hackneyed one at that now. End of. I, however, can wear, listen and think anything I like. So, no, I'm not being a hypocrite at all.
It's funny how everyone is convinced that everyone else is a phony and that they only wear/listen to/ect... things because they are putting on an act. It never occurs to them that maybe some people who are considered to be "emo" or whatever actually DO genuinely like what they are wearing or listening to and that is an expression of how they feel. I think we are all following some kind of fashion statement and those who think that they aren't are just in denial.
I'm sure they love it. I'm sure they love the music too. I'm sure in many cases they think it is an expression of how they feel. But what makes me think it is slightly phony is, I struggle to believe that many people think: "I'm feeling xyz, let me follow a set archetype and not deviate from it." Tbh, it isn't the intention, it is the stale nature on the genre/fashion statement etc...It just got old. You obviously haven't seen my dress sense.
I can understand a carefree, emotionally detached, liberated deviant that does everything for happiness (instead of living within the confines of a very flat and derivative universe) taking a swipe at emos, but not Odon. I'm not saying that because I am angry, but because it is true. I went out with an emo. She felt perfectly comfortable with breaking the emo laws when she wanted to do so. She also smiled a lot. (of course It's not really my taste, and they listen to terrible music - to be honest)
