    The other night my parents had a Vietnamese friend (Pete) over for dinner. Mum spent 5 minutes talking about how my ex-girlfriend was Vietnamese and that Pete should hook me up with more Vietnamese women. 5 minutes later I informed everybody that she was actually Korean. lol.

    I don't think that capital dictates every facet of human behaviour, particularly racism, just as I don't think that psychosomatic disorders can be blamed for every illness that doesn't have a clearly defined cause.

    Why the chronic need to oversimplify? I had a prejudice against Italian men for years after I left high school, because a lot of the Italian men I went to school with were arseholes, and also because I was a mindless young adult still in the process of learning to distance myself from my preconceived notions about people; in other words, I was stupid.

    Some people are just so incredibly stupid that they can't even tell the different between a preconceived notions and reality - of course it is more complicated than that, but that's the jist of it.

    Now stupidity might have economic causes, I grant you that.
