If you had to say one song was the "most" psychedelic

which would you pick? Justified answers are always the best.

I'd have to go for Amon Duul II - Soap Shop Rock (A. Burning Sister, B. Halluzination Guillotine, C. Gulp A Sonata, D. Flesh Coloured Anti-Aircraft Alarm)

This song is a trip. The etheral vocals (German accent and all) blather on about mystic union and stuff, honestly I really have no idea what he's singing about but the delivering is so perfect for the droning chaotic swirl that serves as the back drop. Occasionally lead guitar pierces through the gloom before dissipating back into the primordial.

just most of the times i've seen you talk about music you at least mention em. also recall you saying something about thinking heavy music was more psychedelic than generic psyc stuff (very rough paraphrasing here, sorry), assumed you were referring to btbam then as well.

One song may be way more psychedelic for one person than it is another. Ever heard that song Cosmic Highway to the Moon or whatever by les claypool? I thought that song was pretty trippy but his voice is not very good.

Dopesmoker - Sleep

it's on youtube, but it's like 68 mins long, and it's more about weed than anyother psychedelic. but it's perfect for taking a couple bong rips to.

great album if you like doom metal!

if you like sleep, check out "dopethrone" by electric wizard...best doom album EVER imo.

 

yeah i've been meaning to check that one out, i just bought "Come my Fanatics..." by that group the other week

that's in all of them...but "come my fanatics..." is probably my second favorite of theirs.

 

Dopethrone is actually my least favorite Electric Wizard. I like it more than I used too but it is seriously overrated, IMO. Especially if you compare it to a true Doom monolith like Dopesmoker.

Check out Witchcult Today, it's not as suffocating or sludgy as dopethrone, but makes up for that with vastly superior song writing and a wonderfully psychedelic atmosphere.
