Two Different Users?

I'm in a very complicated dilemma. i have these three friends in which we have all tripped on shrooms and acid, but heres the catch. We have never tripped together EVER. it seems as though whenever i talk about it with them, i experience things they find extremely unusual mainly my Intense hallucinations and O.B.E's. Whenever i talk to them about it, it seems as if i take it more "seriously" than them. It seems as if they take it to have fun or get "f'ed up". They have also tripped at school and they take more. My question is, am i talking acid to seriously or are they just being blind to what LSD teaches.

Pretty much all my friends who have done shrooms just do em for fun and to get fucked up. we've still had plenty of good times

And yea i got a couple friends who have done shrooms at school, i think thats kinda embarrasing cause doing that just seems like theyre doing to be cool or something. they go around telling all their friends 'dude i just ate an eighth of shrooms'

I like your response the best lol. But im still a little confused.... i do understand that every human being pertains thier own unique and individual experience and thats why our trips are different, but is there more to lsd than smiling trees and flashing patterns? does it do "more"?

 

For some people yes, some people no. How is this hard to understand? Some people find their most spiritual revelations while on LSD, some simply like the colors, and others just wanna get twisted.

 

Well im just a little confused because we are all taking the exact same drug? but why dont some people ask those important questions that LSD can make you ask. For instance don't "they" think its weird that every object around them can change and the line between reality "imagination" can be blurred with just swallowing one little piece of paper? i look at life in a COMPLETELY different way after LSD

I've seen a lot that people who brag about taking acid at school or anything of the sort aren't really taking acid.

The biggest indicator is "dude this one time a guy gave me a joint dipped in acid..."

I smile and listen but it's easy to tell when someones lying.

 

Aha very true, but they do take it at school ive seen it in their mouth lol. i think they just dont ask the broad horizon of questions that I do. It seems when i talk to people In here about the LSD experience those "things" we talk about are never mentioned with my friends when we speak of LSD. by the way i appreciate each and every 1 of your answers. im just so confused i feel so crazy

 

I went through the same thing you are a few years back. I found this great appreciation for the things around me, and utilized every second for learning (when tripping) while my friends didn't give a shit about my epiphany, they just wanted to be 'fucked up.' The more you try to understand why they don't give a shit, the more confused you're gonna be. I tried to show those friends the way, that there's so much more to it than partying......they just don't give a shit man.

 

same here for the most part. That's why I would love to trip with some people on the HF and other areas on the interweb sometime.

None of my friends like to take drugs just to get insight, they just take them to go partying, and have fun, it can be a bit anoying, thats why i like to smoke alone sometimes so i get the kind of experience im looking for. Though things are starting to change a bit right now, give them time, when they grow older theyll apreciate it more.

Think this happens everywhere, but theres always some1 on the group that looks to drugs in another kind of way, so he ends up in the hipforum, and thats you n me and all the dick sucking mother fuckers bitches here!!

I've tripped 12 times, and never had a really profound trip that really changed everything. I get little insights here and there, and it's made me a better person, but I can't say I've had any real revelations. Some people get different things out of it, and it's important to not judge them because they don't view it as deep experience like you. Perhaps they are the wise ones for not letting their outlook on reality be influenced by something that takes you so far away from reality.

That does make sense, but isnt it true that you dont really know what you have until you have lost it? I mean if you trip for fun theres nothing wrong with that. Its just that for me psychedelics raise so many questions from the patterns to the way everything just grows its truly amazing.

If someone isn't open to learning, the chances of them learning anything is very slim. If your friends are taking acid "just to get messed up" (as some people do, not everyone has the same agenda when it comes to drugs which is fine) then if they have any powerful or changing thoughts they'll probably just pass them off as high thoughts and not take them seriously or give them a second thought. I have friends who get INCREDIBLY deep and thoughtful when they take acid, and friends who just enjoy feeling different feelings and seeing different things.

Drugs like LSD can be wonderful learning tools, offering insights and new perspectives and ideas. However they can also just be a good time and an interesting experience for some people. It's hard to understand how other people can use acid in this way sometimes, especially when you see it as a gateway to your mind and they seem to view it as a different way of getting wasted, but try not to judge them for it! You might not understand their reasoning for taking it or think it's a waste, but some things we'll just never understand but should accept nonetheless.

If you get considerably deeper than they do though, they don't seem like the best tripping friends for you and I might recommend not choosing to trip with them! I like to be on at least a little bit of a similar wavelength with the people I do these things with, it creates a sense of connectedness and then you don't have to worry about feeling isolated or uncomfortable


EDIT- Sorry, I just read back a bit and realized everyone said pretty much the same thing I said so I guess there was no need to repeat it! Basically you guys enjoy acid in different ways, and there's nothing wrong with either! Get out there and get everything you can out of it, and have fun!!
