We are seriously looking at property with at least one main house on it in NW Arizona. We are also having major discussions concerning what the community vision, focus and intent is:

@Buy Ins
@Barter
@Basic Restrictions
@Committment
@Human Issues
@Food, Water, Energy

Asking and answering the hard questions NOW will keep us all in the realm of REALITY so as not to become so restrictive that we cannot grow, survive and live a quality life in the midst of encroaching downturns in jobs, housing and support.

This is the major proplem right now with other forming IC's (intentional communities); most of them are so restrictive as to be elitist. We do not desire that. It doesn't work.

If you are seriously considering committing to a community that is reasonably INclusive, write me at michellehertzberg@hotmail.com OR
:groupwave:
if you just want the free preparedness book "Save Your Butt- Survival Preparedness for Those Who Don't Have A Clue-by M&W Hertzberg", I can send it via email.

We can discuss via email what we are doing, share information and discuss issues.

Keep in mind that no matter what, WE two will be finding, purchasing and moving onto a property by March 2010 at the latest whether we have others joining us there or not.

I am 55 and Friend/Husband is 70.

Agape love. :grouphug:

ho communityminded,

Good luck to you and your effort under Way.
The second link in my signature takes you to a thread in my personal forum where I give out our particulars in our still ongoing attempt.
Being in the snow belt has driven away a few who might otherwise have been interested....the amount of work a few more and most want something already together.
So far, we've not had to be restrictive....the land has done that for us ..lol....the link gives some of the ideas that we've gathered through the years of brainstorming communities as well as being part of some.
Was in the S.W. myself for approx. 10 yrs, but when the land here became available and affordable, I left the high desert that had my heart and went back east to See if it could be done. The energy and physical state of the land here is so amenable to community, and I have grown so close to her that I cannot foresee leaving it unless to those who would make sure to be honoring her.
Sometimes it is important to say "NO" to those who speak of partaking because of the many takers prevalent in this society.....if this is not recognized, there are many attempts that did not get off the ground because some involved were morally inappropriate (and the communities harboring criminals become liable), some would not work and, some chose to be a burden to the consensual nature intentional communities must foster.
Sometimes lessons seem to need to be learned by those choosing their individual Way, the hard way....but that is not a necessity, we can learn through the vast groundwork already laid by the many who have gone before us.
For me intentional communities have always seemed important for the releasing of potential stymied by the necessity of individual survival. Group survival can be so much easier , more varied and much more fulfilling.

Again, best of fortune to you all in making it happen

Blessings Be along your way

Namaste

We have found this to be true also Namaste when we had another homestead in Cochise County. So, for 15 years we ended up choosing to help a family, individual or couple get on their feet, teach them new skills and work ethic; even though it wasn't what we desired.

We now know our path clearly and will endeavor to meet it step by step. If others walk alond beside us, all the better, if not, thenn all is as it must be.
