what if[not me]someone is into metal hard but has dreads?

 

Metal dreads are acceptable.

Hippie dreads are not acceptable in any way, shape, or form.

 

I'm sorry we can't be friends anymore. I don't like metal and I have hippie dreads... so two counts against me. I used to date a guy who was obsessed with metal though, does that get me anything?

 

Does Dio count as metal?

I love metal, but I also love every other "genre" of music. It's silly to set friendship criteria based on the type(s) of music they listen to.

When you say metal I presume you mean bands like Metallica and Machine Head etc etc...

That sort of metal sucks. Progressive Metal FTW. Opeth own all.

 

I used to be an Opeth fan boy but saying they "own all" is a shitty opinion. Most prog. metal actually sucks, granted most of those bands don't sound like Opeth.

 

They saved my relationship.

 

Hah, OPeth fan boy, sure.

And yeah, indeed much Progressive metal sucks. In fact I only like about 4 Progressive bands like that.

Opeth, Tool, Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater. None sound the same, however saying that's a bad thing is the most cliched thing a metaller can say!

Most metal fan boys do indeed like bands that all sound the same after all

All in all, I am not a metal fan truly. I like all music, and though I like other fusions of metal, Prog Metal is my favourite for those bands alone. I guess I just like experimental music: not the Intro-verse, chorus, verse, chorus, ANGER!, chorus, ANGRY CHORUS, outro sort of stuff.

Random thought: I think Slayer writes the worst music I've ever heard. I hate their music and I saw them live for free a couple months ago and they seriously sound like a band falling down a flight of stairs. I simply cannot take that band or any of their work seriously. Anyway...
