Talk about your best friends...

From yesteryear to today, what have your best friends been like? How many life long friends do you have?

I have one friend I've known since I was a toddler, about 18 months old, and one friend I've known since I was 15. I've had other friends along the way who were close, but drifted apart over the years.

Sadly, I'm not close with either one of my lifelong friends anymore. I guess once I started traveling we lost touch and drifted apart... It's also pretty sad whenever I come back to my hometown and they are both still doing the same thing they were five years before. On the rare occasions I do see them, we just don't seem to have a lot of common ground. I will always consider the one I've known since I was a toddler my friend, but never like it used to be.

I have two VERY good friends from growing up, known these two girls for about 12 and 10 years, respectively.

I have maybe 5 good friends total.

 

Me either, love. Me either...

 

I have had 6 "best friends" in my life... Most of them through primary school.

Only one, who I met 5 years ago, will always be like a sister to me. She's the only kiwi friend I still keep in contact with. Our friendship doesn't change.

 

I think all my life long friends are my family members, mostly my cousins.
Others come and go, and that's totally fine.

 

One I consider to my sister.


The others are all guys. Tend to be socially awkward, musical, tall, and have dirty senses of humor.

I'll never give em up.

Of my 3 best friends from childhood, 2 are dead and the other has brain damage from a drunk driving incident. He doesn't seem to remember me.

 

Same. I also don't really like people very much, so I try to stay away from them as much as possible.

 

I have 4 lifelong friends..I have known and been friends with 2 of them over 15 years and the other 2 over 10. Got a fun and crazy history with them all. Lots of adventures with many in the years to come.
Within the last couple of years, I got rid of two other friendships that were a few years strong..but they ended up being douches, so it was time to cut the cord.

 

All of mine cut themselves and bled to death or had sever belemia, and died.

 

All of mine also died from severe belemia.

what an overrated term.

My mom is my best friend. She gets annoying after an hour or so though, unless we both are all wined up.

I'm realizing that my "friends" aren't really good friends at all.

It's sad because my absolute best friend and I have been really close since 7th grade. Since she came to college she has completely changed and turned out to have a real stick up her ass.

 

I have the same problem. This year I have realised I have really big issues, and finally accepted it is my friends who re causing them.

One in particular has just got out of a relationship, and is bullying me constantly. And my closet two friends, one moved pretty far away for work and the other got IN a relationship. Haven't seen the guy in about a year properly, so I guess maybe i'm not such a great friend to him.

Friends suck. I used to think I needed people and although I still go out with various groups, I will not compromise myself to please anybody.

Ugh I hear ya.. it sucks!
Especially cause I've known this girl for so long, and I just realized now that she causes a lot of drama in my life that I don't really want to deal with. She is my roommate right now, and I never expected me to feel this way about her, but I really do.

And for my other friends, I just met them freshman year of college. We are all really close, but still.. they just cause a lot of drama that I don't need.. I think after I'm done with school I'm getting rid of all my negative friends and just gonna try to find some new ones that I would get a long with better.
