I'm looking for neat outdoor adventure books, or books about living outdoors. The only ones I can think of are My Side of the Mountain, White Fang, and Call of the Wild.

A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson is good and pretty funny, its about hiking the Appalachian trail.

This is my forte here. Some of my favorites are

"Desert Solitare" - living in the desert alone
"Into the wild" - made into the movie but book is always better
"Mountain Man" - 1850 living in the rockies, inspiration for "jerimaha johnson"
Any Jack Keroauc book - more about travel than outdoors but still poetic and nature-ish
Gary Paulson was my fav author when i was younger. "Hatchet" is the best but he has a bunch like it. A little easy but a great read.

If you're looking for non-fiction, try some bushcraft books!

I think that 'Into The Wild' by Jon Krakuer is a wonderful book. Also check out 'The Final Frontiersman'

For outdoor adventure try One River by Wade Davis...it's about the Ethnobotanist R. E. Shultz and the time he spent living in the Amazon River Basin. Davis is an anthropologist/National Geographic Explorer and a bunch of other titles. He has an appetite for people who live on the extreme edges of the planet and writes about them in terms that will make you grab your passport and pack your bags.
