I loved the atmosphere of this movie. I'm not sure if I could call it one of the greats, but it is extremely well done.

Does anyone know what the baby actually was? I heard it was a cow fetus.

the first time i saw it [78 or so]

there was a group of blind people in the audience

they came for the dialog a little, but mostly for the sound [i asked]

still one of the best soundtracks ever...

^The soundtrack is available on CD. It's nothing special. Just weird industrial music dance mixes and some dialog. A bit of a disappointment. As for the movie, I liked it a lot. I'm proud the DVD has a place on my shelf.

I have utmost respect for David Lynch and his weird take on existence, but the film just freaked the fuck out of me. It just didn't go down well in my mind at all.

well i have found a director even sicker then lynch. his name is andrey iskanov and, the movie i am refering to is 'visions of suffering.' not many of iskanov's movies are, as of yet, available in the west. he has made 4 films; all of them low budget. this guy is young and, is on his way to become one of his nation's greatest directors. he has been called "the russian david lynch." iskanov is no copy cat of lynch. he is an artist who can stand on his own. now, the calfs' head lynch used in eraserhead was motor driven latex. it was not real.

I think Cronenberg can be sicker if he tries to.

Eraserhead is one of my favorite movies, but then again I think I'm a little sick in the head.. however the baby did freak me out.. especially when he started excreting mashed potatoes or whatever that was.

I really really really REALLY tried to watch this movie. But I guess I just don't get it. I was extremely bored. I already know I'm sick in the head, without this movie, so perhaps it's better that I don't really understand.

Eraserhead actually is meant to be a spiritual movie, and if I went into the symbolism it would take me all day. David Lynch actually got some of this ideas from The Bible.. but everyone isn't going to like it.

Eraserhead is great, I love David Lynch's weirdness in all of his films.

It's a really good movie but it's not that shocking, weird, or sick. There are movies that beat Eraserhead in all those categories.

I really do like this movie. I think it is beautifully weird and so well put together. I just wish his career stayed closer to this, rather than going down his hollywood surreal-lite path as of late.

My buddy from work borrowed it to me and after ingesting psychedelics we watched it it pretty much fucked my head from the main menu for the dvd were hes stepping on like a rotten cat. Anyway i found myself intrigued by it and tried to get a better understanding but the only thing Lynch said is that everyones opinion of what it meant wasn't even close to what he was going for. Strange

I like all of Lynch's movies--Eraserhead and Blue Velvet in particular.Life is not all puppies and kitties for Lynch. The underbelly --that which cannot be seen by ordinary people fascinates him. Twin Peaks was pretty odd too.--caliente--I'd like to know what you mean about the spiritual symbolism.
