to keep on track. Seems like some people can jsut be happy...but it doesn't seem like anyone isn't in a constant struggle with themselves on the inside. I mean we are constantly in transition in our lives. Our lives change, our moon cycles throw us for a ride, life just keeps going. How do you get a handle on yourself when you feel like you are spinning out of it. I mean I'd like things to be a sertain way but I never get there but also I know I havent worked hard enough to get what I want yet. Im in slow transition and im getting inpatient with my life. What is it supose to feel like to be 22? I feel a lot older sometimes(kid/house/husband) But when I am older I don't want to not have control over me. I want to be able to identify my crap and keep moving. Sometimes I identify my crap and I get stuck there and depressed. Over all I'm not all depressed but I've been there. Im just in one of thsoe blank funks. where I'm getting numb. I'm getting kinda numb to making choices. I just go with the flow.

(((Hugs))) It can be so easy to get caught up in the crap going on around you... and this is coming from someone who doesn't have a kid or a husband, so I imagine things are even crazier for you. Do you have a place you can go for some quiet time? Even just in your own house, a little nook that's just for you?

I like meditation and just some quiet thinking time, or even just sometime to myself with a good book and a bubble bath, also I find when I’m really tense having an amazing orgasm in intimate love making can really make me relaxed for the rest of the day and i walk around floating and everything seems just that much better.

    exactly morna...
but when you realize that what your used to needs change you gotta relearn how to live. So how do you transition from fighting withyourself and keeping old patterns to truely overcoming your habbits and being different?

i can compeltely relate to this... and its overwhelming at times and so easy to give up and think what youve got now is just how it will be for you. but i know there are some things i need to get through before i move onto where i want to be.

im a mess and never really on track with things....im trying to turn that around, slowly...like you said, life just this constant learning cycle, always changing and you have to keep pushing through

Having faith that everything is as it should be, now; and will be as it should be, in the future, keeps me on track.

something that apparently worked really well for a friend of a friend of mine was to say, every morning and every night, infront of the mirror "I'm worth it"... but with conviction, not just empty words. Make yourself believe it. Positive reinforcement every day (look at me, slinging the lingo! lol) I tried it for a little while, but was too lazy to keep doing it every day. It's not a quick fix, and it's not necessarily a high-impact one, but it does instigate change.

I know Im worth it..Im just empty sometimes. Like unfulfilled. For example I used to be an artist...seems like I am strugling to find time to do art now. Its really drownded me away from my talents. I am a stay at home mom anh my husband works. We each have a night to do something a week. Even on that night I get a little overwhelmed because I wqant to do EVERYTHING lol and that does not work. Plus I cant be here on my night most the time cuz my son is almost 3 he doesnt understand I cant be with him at that time and want to be alone so he screams and bangs on the door etc...how can I relax with that? Cant do art that way. Anyways thanks for the support peeps.

It sounds cheesy, but one step at a time. With the art thing, does your son take naps? I know, you need to be cleaning or whatever during that time, but if you could rearrange your regular schedule you may be able to fit in 40 min. every other day to at least do a little bit of something... It won't be the same as diving into some project that takes all afternoon & night, but it will be better than nothing.

But, the talk of changing old habit & dealing with your crap sounds deeper than just finding time to do stuff you enjoy... In which case, keep in mind that all you can do is try -- if these things were easy to change or to deal with, we wouldn't call them habits. One of my main things right now is procrastination. Here I am playing on the forums instead of working on a 20 page paper that is due next week. But, I'm still doing better than I would have a year ago -- a whole week before it's due & I already have a list of stuff to get from the library & an outline! Baby steps...

there is some sound advice in here, but if i was being really honest, i don't think i am worth anything, so if i were to tell myself that i was it would be empty words. when i start to lift, somebody screws me over and i'm gone again. i have got used to and am comfortable with the fact that i will have to do everything alone.

applespark, I read to escape. I will give up sleep to read, always have.
Then I er..developed.. an interest in photography, and used Arlo shamelessly as a model..at the park, at the zoo, at the co-op..wore him out... see where this is going?
he'd crash and I'd get the non-photo urges appeased for a while.

Can hubby and you take the babe out for pizza/ park/zoo on the other's evening if they want the house? Could he take the kiddo out on a saturday afternoon, leaving you with time and space to do something?
Yogifor peace sounds like a loving, caring guy. I'm sure he knows you want to be creative again. let him know how he can help! brainstorm together.
are there grandparents around you can trust for a few hours?
plan a project that you can complete or get to a logical stopping point for those times.
maybe spend one bloc of time setting up a mini studio, well protected from wee ones, and the next gessoing and then... then you can paint!

Live everyday as if it's your last. If a Dr told ya that ya were dieing of some disease and had a week to live what or how would ya want to spend the last week?
I sure wouldn't be working so much!
