    JEN

I was going to write a long and heart felt tribute to Jen, a young lady who lost her life through error five years ago today.
But I can't. It still hurts too much.

You see, Jen was that one person you meet now and then who visibly burned with intelligence. She sucked up knowledge like a sponge and reflected it back with perturbations all her own.

There's a word teachers and parents throw around a lot-- Potential. Well, with Jen, potential didn't even begin to cover it. When she died, her Husband, her Parents, her friends--
We all sensed a loss beyond are ken. It was a loss that encompassed so many possible futures--

Few of us hold possibility in our hands the way Jen did. The loss of her life was a loss for the world. One of the tomorrows that might of been will never be--

Whatever the future holds, it will be a little less than it might have been.

When flowers die on rainy days
The sun never shines as bright
    Tomorrow kneels to yesterday
As if it feels the slight

We miss you Jen more than we know
    Our loss still burns inside
So we'll sit and think of happy times
    While deep inside we'll cry.

Words never seem to be enough when dealing with the loss of friends or loved ones. But yours come from the heart. Jen seems like someone special. I'm sorry she's gone.
