Please ... do me a favour.... watch this film. No film has ever effected me like this. Its full ofthe most amazing imagry, no words, just music, chanting haunting images. .... then it takes you on an emotional and almost spiritual inner journey from total wonderment to absolute horror. .. one moment i was reveling in a amazingness of this world.. the next minuite i was crying with despair...... feeling hopeless and lost. ... feeling like i should be doing more to change what i was seeing. I couldnt look away i could only cry. its left me feeling so full yet so empty and sad, there were points in the film where i just wanted to end my life.... i felt that helpless. No film has ever EVER effected me like this. i never cry in films... the only film to bring a tear to my eye was American History X because i knew that what i was seeing was true..... it really does and could happen. Its the same with this film. Baraka .... please watch it. Llama love, hope, light and tears Fleassy xox
.... the earth... there is no text.. no characters other than the visions on the screen. The people in it are left for you to create a mental and conxetual life for them. Its made me want to go vegetarian. .... its made me want to go and explore ..... its made me want to go.... anywhere but on earth

aye, seen it. Panning from Japanese boxed ash graveyards to Shanty flats in Rio... Chicks on a battery farm conveyor belt to rush hour humans on escalators... yeh, a damn good film.
A friend of mine suggested this to me and I have yet to see it. I was hoping that they would show it at an Imax theatre. I have heard great things about it.
I saw this film a few years back and I remember it being pretty amazing. Even more so for featuring the music of Dead Can Dance who created the most fantastic haunting, emotive, and mystical music - one of my fav bands.
yeah, its an amazing film, i saw it a few years ago at the samye ling, buddhist centre, it was an amazing experience........ there are no words. namaste x x x
I have seen it at the last Confest (the down under equivalent of Glastonbury but without orginised music).I felt sorry for the baby chicks and thought it was a bastard of a business. Some parts of the film are quite funny the way differnet bits of footage are edited together. The film is not that new .It came out in 1992.
