why does it seem like in america they are so fuckin crazy about drugs and shit. I do not like what they are trying to do. It seems that they would rather just make all "drugs" illegal, anything that can alter the way you think and open your mind to new things. On the other hand I think the issue is becoming more widely known of, 50 years ago you didn't have JWH-018 containing blends that actually get you baked. It's becoming more socially acceptable to get high I think, and eventually hopefully enough people will think marijuana needs to be legal. But they will try to make anything illegal, they will use any laws available to them and bend the laws, to make it criminal to feel anything at all from anything besides alcohol.

1: wouldnt really wana see it legalized, just make it part of commercialism and crap. just wouldn't be the same i dont think.

2: its not the people that need to feer its governemtn, but the government its people, if we want pot an stuff, we should have the right, and we need to take back our rights if necessary. our country is suposably about freedom, yet we cant even make our own choice to do drugs.

The police have a vested interest in keeping the crime world thriving. "Drugs" is a convenient scapegoat.

The US, along with most of the world, has signed a treaty agree to keep certain drugs illegal. Congress has relinquished it's ability to legalize weed. By treaty, Mj MUST remain illegal until such time as the treaty is repudiated.

States can do as they please. But witness that the DEA bust legal pot shops in cali.

None of those countries have unregulated weed, except India, which did NOT sign the treaty. No-- not even in Amsterdam is weed legal.

Not enforcing the law and legalization are two seperate things.

You want to legalize weed-- start by fighting the treaty.

 

I think it's partly the whole "what would we do with 100,000+ Cop's and Prison Guards suddenly on unemployment" as well as the fact that for the most part we in the States are weened on the teet of excessive consumption and spoon fed "shop-till-you-drop" lifestyles from day one. That in itself makes the idea of legalization a bit worrysome to me considering the fact that it seem's 7 out of 10 Americans cant handle keeping their daily caloric intake at a healthy level let alone something that would actually provide any greater sort of joy or pleasure or otherwise escape from the mindless 9 to 5, 5 out of 7 monotanous form of existance most of us are compelled to live.
Perhaps weed wouldn't be such an issue, but other drug's could certainly be deemed socially problematic if left unchecked by authoritarian figures.

But let's not forget if everyone could grow their own weed, everyone would have easy access to the best source of plant fibers for textiles, the best form of vegetable oil's for eating healthy or producing one's own bio-diesel's as well as the resulting boom in pot growing would undoubtedly counteract around 50% of Mankinds carbon emissions as it is of course, the most effective plant when it comes to scrubbing the C from C02, and where would Al Gore be then?? Chasing Man-Bear-Pig. I'm Super Cereal!!

like i said in the first post i made this thread, we are the people and the government represents our opinions, not what they want, we need to tell them, and force what we want into action or itll stay what the government wants.

Obama did, indeed, tell the DEA to stay out of weed clinics in Cali.

They ignored him. The busts have gone down as recently as last month.

Well if that was ever really the intention of Government than I'd say they forgot that purpose well over 150 years ago.

Get used to the notion that untill the revolution takes place, it's all Cake and Circuses (All hype and show with nothing of any real sustaining value going on but it sure keep's the simple folks distracted while they're getting fucked raw.)

The only people with any real power in Washington are Corporate lobbyists or those with otherwise exceptionally deep pockets and "We the People" are the last on a long list who have any mind paid to them.

These suckers we keep electing decade after decade, Democrats or Republicans, either way, all they are is a fucking talking head to smile for the channel 5 news camera and talk to the public using tiny words and soothing tones while they slip the rectal probe in John Q. Public's poop shoot an inch further.

Nothing will change untill we change it, and judging by how well the Fed's, DEA and Military are armed these day's theres a greater chance our troubles will be solved by a Race of highly evolved super-beings currently living beneath Easter Island just down the block from the Morloks and in the same general calling area as the Crab people than there is of "We the People" standing up in any sort of effective fashion against the facist machine that is our Federal government. America just doesn't have enough gonads and gunpowder to do it, it's gonna take a major natural disaster to change shit in this place.
