Wow, it's been 5 years since I said goodbye to meat. I've made a few mistakes, (gelatin & other hidden ingredients) but I've survived! I've also been gluten-free for a full 4 years now - now THAT was a tough diet-change!

Most of my food adventures lately have been vegan. I'm still not ready to make that leap, but I'm happy with my 90-95% vegan diet.

I am particularly excited about a few new foods that we have discovered. Westsoy has a chocolate peppermint soymilk that is positively divine. It's so rich & dreamy that even my meatosaur son loves it! Another new goodie we've discovered is the first meat analog that I've actually TRULY enjoyed! Primal Strips makes a gluten-free soy jerky that is really REALLY good! My husband (a carnivore) has been getting their regular jerky for years, because he says he likes it better than meat-jerky and it's always smelled really good. So when they came out with a version *I* could have, he brought it home. And BOY is it wonderful! It seems to fill that "savory/smoke-flavor" craving quite nicely. And at 11g protein per bar, I like to keep one in my handbag (when my son doesn't snatch them - he's addicted too!) to balance out a fast-food salad dinners!

That's about it. Life has been busy lately, so I haven't been online as much... but I'm still here! What's up with everyone else? Any new goodies out there I should know about?
    love,
    mom

Mmmm peppermint chocolate soy milk! *salvates* I wish we had that. We have 'soygood' in chocolate vanilla and strawberry. The strawberry one tastes just like a smoothie. I like eating tofu dogs and mock balony. Theres this brand called 'yves' it's really great!
I also really like taking mild tofu in a frying pan with a little olive oil, and scrambleing it with garlic powder and keg spice. Makes a good sandwich.
