My dad has harvested his crop and it has been is jars for a while... he refused to listen to me when I told him to leave the lids off so the bus could air out..and now some are showing signs of mold. What can do to stop it in its tracks? He won't listen to a word I say...but I'm determined to save this crop!!!

    Parents think they're so smart!>D

Sounds like he skipped a step, dry to about 50% humidity before putting in the jars. Then remove lids for a couple of hours each day for a month, known as curing, if ya shorten this curing time the end product will be less potent, lengthening the time up to 2months = more potent. But back to yer problem, remove meds from jars, save any that is not affected. Dry any salvagable meds in a dark dry warm place. for a situation like this a food dehydrater works well. Otherwise lay meds on a screen so air may cirulate all through it.

As to the contaminated (moldy) part of crop.......there are many ways to try to save it usually making hash with some kind of alcohol. I've tried most of them and decided our health is more important than trying to save moldy mj.

    true that..

be careful if making hash though.. unless you've got a very precise way to separate the mold spores from the trichomes you are definitely going to get at least some mold in the finished product..

a lot of people suggest making bubble hash out of a moldy crop.. the logic there being that the micron screens in the bubble bags are smaller than the mold spores.. thus the mold stays out, and the trichs are all filtered to the bottom..

however i think thats probably a myth.. mold spores are pretty damn small.. and when you consider the process of making the bubble hash (pulling the bags back up comes to mind).. you are likely to contaminate the product..

there is no fool proof way to get the mold off your crop.. if its a lot of bud that got ruined, you might want to use scissors to trim whatever mold you can see with the naked eye off.. then maybe try to make a hash... like i said, its very likely mold could end up in the finished product either way though...

your best bet would probably be to just throw out the moldy buds.. dry the rest out so that they can be jar'd again and leave the jars open for a couple hours a day.. whatever you do... get rid of that moldy shit before it turns into straight up bud-rot and your entire crop is fucked..

    good luck
