My grinder is a cheap piece o' crap, and I'm considering buying a new one. Is there any particular design (preferably one with a kief catch) that I should be looking for?
One with a keif catcher Just go to your headshop and look at what they have. Ask to take a look at them and find something that seems decently made and looks like it would have a nice keif catcher.
yeah just look around at a headshop and see what they have. if its not busy which im sure it isnt, talk to the person behind the counter and ask which one they would prefer(dont mention its for weed cause most places dont like that) but they can usually recommend a good one and its nice to be on good terms with people that work there, i always talk to the owner of the headshop that i used to go to all the time and he'll give me discounts and stuff and he's real cool
i love my sharpstone grinder its got a keif catcher and doesn't require much effort to grind the shit
i have yet to invest in a grinder, i always think about one when im breaking up weed but i really dont mind doing it with my hands lol the keif catcher is the only reason id want one
its really amazing how much keif my space case catches but i really like the 4pcs Kannistor because it has a clear top so that you can see when your weed drops to the bottom. It also has a replaceable screen. Its a great grinder. man i feel like i am at work, always sellin baby!

if you want a great grinder that SPAWNS keif, go with a sharpstone just my 2cencs check out halfbakedgoods, they have a lot of great sharpstone products
I found this one on Amazon.com for $14.00. Under "Herb Grinder". I paid like $60.00 for one just like it 3 years ago. It's the best. Mine is aluminum and this one is different.
Grinder is where it's at. It holds the grind for you in the container, it stores keif in the bottom and it cuts of the bud in easy to smoke particles. Nothing better. Best money I ever spent. If you don't have a ginder you don't know what you are missing.
i bought a $10 wooden grinder years ago. i mostly only used it to break weed up for rolling. but lately i've been getting dense nugs, so i got the grinder back out. even though it's a cheap shitty grinder, it's much better than breaking up by hand. especially if you have really sticky dense bud. the "kief" though isn't really kief in my opinion. it's partly kief, partly just really fine weed particles and hairs, etc. kief is just the trichomes if i'm not mistaken. a kief box. that's how you really collect kief. but it's a dick move to run a quarter pound or whatever through your kief box and then sell the weed
So I should look for a sharpstone, eh? I have heard of those before, and now I really think I need to find one. The reason I asked about this is because I have a grinder with a kief catch already, it's just that the grinding spokes are really cheap (two have already popped out).
