Chicago and in your 20s

Where are all the young hippies at and what are you doing in Chicago? I just walked in my apt. 20 min ago after hiking for 5 hours at Starved Rock and everyone was old or at least older. I would love to meet young hippy dippy people here. Abbey Pub on Thursday nights has great bluegrass. I feel like I missed out on alot of cool things in chicago bc I can't find the hippies to do things with. Went to an awesome vegetarian buffet yesterday. I know of somethings to do. You show me yours and I'll show you mine. I'm talking about ladies too! I want girl friends and guy friends. I just moved here 3 months ago and being single should be alot more fun then it has been. anyways email me fiore_flower@hotmail.com or start posting here. I'm 22 turning 23 this summer and I'm not in school. I'm pretty out of that whole college scene too. Doesn't really interest me. so let's do hippy things in chicago together!

maria, I'm 24. I'm in Dekalb about an hour from Chicago. I dont have the money to know what's going on in the city, but hit up the taste and watch for flyers with hippie shit all over them. I've gotten those before and seen some badass music on the beach by lincolnparkzoo (hippie music and what looked like it must have been every hippie in chicago)

Hey Maria! Im in Elgin which is about 30 mins north of Chicago... I travel to the city all the time and haven't seemed to meet up with many hippy folk out there eighther. Arouind my area there are alot of parks and such that we all meet up at, but in the winter the scene is kinda dead. Let me know what you are up to and if I have any shows or anything to attend ill let ya know !

I remember when I was a teenager there used to be masses of hippy kids in the forest preserves right in the middle of the burbs the fuzz ran us out of there years ago only a few yungons meetup scheduled now to frisbee golf and such its crazy theres this glbpride picnic in the forest preserve in my area twice a year. i usually go with some of my girlfriends who are lesbians they run us out every year tell us to move our tents to the parking lot... wierdos

 

Ya 5-0 is always around out here too. they usually dont bother any of us unless we are loud or smoking something out in the open ya know. For the most part they dont bother us and we dont bother them though 8) Plus, they all already know me so if im not REALLY getting into trouble they leave me alone. Its better then what they have seen already lol.

i jsut stumbled across this site, but anywho ive had no problem meeting hippies in chicago, although a lot of them do migrate in from the burbs on the weekends. if anyone wants to chat, hit up my facebook profile, since i frequent that more than message boards... i produce/perform elcectronic "hippie hop" music and we really get some great gatherings with great people on a regular... dont be shy , add me if youre in the chi
