First post - a question about roots

My dreads are 5 months and my roots have grown a lot, I have noticed my underneath dreads have knotted up very nicely at the root, So i am just waiting for that to happen on the the top dreads. I was root rubbing for a bit, but that really made my hair feel crispy and damaged. So now i just leave them alone!

 

maybe this is easier to tell?
