Yeah!!! Jitterbug Perfume is so good in so many ways. Tom Robbins is to literature what Jimi Hendrix was to British Pop.

Just this morning, I started reading Child of Fortune. The introduction alone is one of the most impressive things I've read in a long time. I think, for the moment at least, I may be Spinrad's biggest, newest fan.

I just wanted to say thank you for the recommendation.

    Peace and Love

    Hey Meagain,

I've found, and read, a couple of other books by Norman Spinrad - Riding The Torch, Songs from the Stars, A World Between - I am thoroughly loving Spinrad's style and perspective. I just wanted to thank you once again.

    Peace and Love

the book nature opens before the eyes of those who sit alone on a nice flat rock out in the wilderness away from human social distractions. when we sit quiet enough long enough to no longer be disturbing nature and all the little creatures can forget we're there and go about their bussiness as if we weren't.

then it becomes, while not a utopia, neither a battle field, but a diversity that works because every part, without trying to, contributes to every other, by yet other parts converting one part into another. infinitely complex. and yet, there are speicfics unique to each place, which are the education of that place. that took people tens of thousands of years to figure out.

but forget about what we think we know. just watch. see what's really there. assume nothing.

Vijnana Bhairava which is 112 ways to become one with reality. Translated as Divine Consciousness supposedly but another translation that I made which is also a proper translation is divine knowledge of terror which I also know to be true from first hand experience, it's all about how to achieve samadhi and where all forms of yoga, tantra and meditation come from. Spanda Karikas or The Divine Creative Vibration would go with it which is more of an explanation of what reality is which is tied for greatest book of all time IMO.
