Q:You are in a plane crash in the Andes Mountains, not unlike those people from the movie 'Alive'. As such you will be forced to consume the human flesh of the people who died on impact; this will be a terrible experience, but it is the only way for you to suvive. Fortunately you did not know any of the victims personally.
Would you rather eat a dead baby, or would you rather eat a dead elderly person? Would gender play a role in the selection process? And how much would it bother you if this meat turned out to be delicious?

Q: It is 1933. You are in Berlin, Germany. Somehow you find yourself in a position where you can effortlessly steal Adolf Hitler's wallet. This theft will not effect Hitler's rise to power, the nature of world war II, or the Holocaust. There is no important indentification in the wallet, but the act will cost Hitler forty Reichsmarks and completely ruin his evening. You do not need the money. The odds that you are caught committing this crime are less than 2%.
Are you ethically obligated to steal Hitler's wallet?

Q: You are given the chance to control what you legacy will be. You can't specifically dictate how you will be recalled by future generations, but you are given the chance to choose between two general legacies.

Option 1 - You lived your days as a good, honest person who worked hard and contributed to society. However, the limitation of this legacy will be that almost no one will know or remember this information (including future members of your own extended family). Most average people will never even know you lived.

Option 2 - This legacy will be familiar to almost everyone in the world for centuries to come. However, this legacy will be extremely strange and neutral. It will be an obscure fact that has nothing to do with your tangible day to day life. (the best comparison being the legacy of General Tso Tsungtang, an extremely gifted and successful military leader during the 17th century Qing Dynasty who is now exclusively remembered as the namesake for the popular Chinese dish General Tso's chicken).

    Which legacy do you want?

    1. I'd go for the elderly. The babies meat is probably all gooey and undeveloped. Even though the old guy's probably isn't too much better, if I ended up loving it I'd have to base the rest of my life off kidnapping old people and harvesting their meat. It'd be a nice little side project.

    2. Absolutely

    3. Only if the legacy is of me stealing and eating people over 60 then 2.

    1) I would be unbiased in my selection, but I wouldn't eat anyone who had a severe injury or disease (ex. Injuried and infected legs) . I would feel bad if it tasted good because cannibalism is a very taboo and disgusting thing, it's almost at the same level as incest.
    2) Ruining his evening would be just a drop in the pan in his evil life. I probably wouldn't live long enough to sell it for a profit. So no.
    3) Option One, I'd rather be a good person and be forgotten than have a strange legacy.

    1. Baby. Old people probably taste like crap. Gender does not bother me.
It being delicious = exactly what i thought, also fucking win.

    2. No, fuck i would not steal his wallet. Unless i was starving and had to feed my kitteh's, otherwise i would not. But i would strike a conversation, try to understand him and get to know him... Maybe even party with him for a while. Then i would like to eat him.

    3. Option 2. I would rather be extremely gifted and successful at something yet be remembered for something random, than a average life with nothing.

This is what raises a small concern for me if i ever try human meat...

Also its getting toward that season. Perfect temperature to store the dead outside of a wrecked plane. People have probably had the opportunity, tried it, then made a thread about it to measure people's reactions to it to figure out if they should shun themselves from society or keep on livin' (off other)

    1. I would starve to death, dude. Not eating people in that circumstance.. don't think I could stomach it.

    2. Why would I want to steal his wallet? I'm confused by your leading question.

    3. I choose the private, unknown legacy of a "good life" lived, whatever the hell that means. :)

    1. i'd like to think i wouldn't eat human flesh, but under some dire circumstances i just might. i really can't say how far i would go to survive, because im not in that situation right now, and who knows.. close to a week without food and that baby may look mighty tasty... gender doesnt matter.

    2. nah, i dont steal

    3. the honest and good life. (although apparently option 2 is still "honest and good", but just remembered for something strange; which is apparently not negative, just random or irrelevant) regardless, the first choice i guess i'd pick. leaving a legacy is not necessarily of importance to me- especially when its a little obscure and misguided

    1) I'd eat the dead elderly person if they had a decent amount of meat on them, and if they did taste good that probably wouldn' t bother me that much :D

    2) I wouldnt take the risk, because if hitler caught me stealing his wallet odds are i'd be executed.

    3) I'd go with option 2.

id eat the elderly fellow first, tougher more worked meat, but it would go farther. no need for tender infant flesh delicacies (think veal). if it tasted good, i would be appreciative of a bit of luck while im stuck in the cold mountains. plus being tougher to begin with the old man meat would dry faster and make good jerky (i think)

what about letting hitler know his wallet is hanging out? maybe change his outlook on the whole "taking over the world" gig. who knows? anyway id be in the 2% that got caught if i stole it.

probably 1, i see no need for a remembered legacy.

and cannibalism is an interesting topic, even if it is "taboo". we are animals, we are made of meat, the hangup arises only when you think about consciousness, or think (arrogantly) that animals are lesser beings, and available for eating, but humans are "better" and therefore off the menu. in a survival situation all bets are off, yet we have to question whether we could eat flesh. die, or eat meat? why does it matter if its human? in this scenario the people are dead already, and abruptly, allowing for a 'no kill' reflection. what if you had a group of people, could you ask that everyone donate a lower leg to the cookpot? how to you get the most sustenance from the least flesh?

I think in that situation it would be a kill or be killed, cuz I know I wouldn't wanna donate my leg...pretty sure nobody else would be willing either so......in short only the strong survive so I think ppl would revert back to their caveman instinct and kill the weak
