Actually he is right. To become a Christian, you need to first acknowlede you are a sinner and to ask for forgiveness for those sins.

Just wanted to comment on this statement, "Rapes not on the list but idol worship is?"

I am thinking that has to do with why number ten is on the list, "You must not be envious of your neighbour's goods. You shall not be envious of his house nor his wife, nor anything that belongs to your neighbor." Coveting, desiring others, such as lust can lead to sins such as rape. And if one was respected and upheld then I have a hard time imagining rape being committed, since fulfilling your own desires and your own ways can be considered to be an idol (self worship).

It seems like God says or does things to help prevent what follows from a previous desire. I guess that is why he instructed the first two people to not even bother to touch the apple because where it might lead [eating the apple].

But to answer OP question, I have committed everything but 6 [prob should be 'murder' not kill] and 7.

    1. I have no gods, including you. I suppose I break this one by not having the abrahamic god as a god in the first place.

    2. I tend to place little value on material symbolism and would never worship an idol. That's ridiculous. Score one for Christian Stabby!

    3. I sometimes do. God damnit! Although he's not the lord MY god. I don't think either side scores here.

    4. I don't even know what it means to keep the sabbath day holy.

    5. I respect my father and mother but only by their own merit, they don't get special status just because they're my parents and I would never obey them blindly, but I do respect them.

    6. Kill? I don't kill people but I'm responsible for the deaths of many lesser beings. I'll assume this means people. I don't break this one :)

    7. I've never been married so I haven't had the possibility of committing adultery. I never cheated on my ex girlfriend though. What's the moral status on cheating on a girlfriend? Either way I don't break this one.

    8. I don't steal anymore but I used to.

    9. False evidence against my neighbor? I don't even know my neighbor. I'll assume by neighbor mr. god means anyone. I still don't break this one.

    10. I'm not envious of material possessions or other people's relationships, that's silly. I'm envious of the physical and mental attributes of some people though.

I've come to the conclusion that the ten commandments are vague, ambiguous and a poor core for an ethical system by themselves. Thankfully Christians have that inspired, enlightened and very valid bible of theirs.

I've Broken all but #7 plus I'm guilty of the ultimate sin: I denounce the holly spirit as bullshit, I don't believe in God or Christ the savior. Jesus or 'Yay-soos' was a carpenter, a rebel, a magician and a mortal human.

To be a Christian it is so. To be a disciple of Christ, or to use the discipline of true authority, it is far from true.

Most Christians break the Fourth Commandment on a weekly basis. If you read the Fourth Commandment in its entirety you will discover that the seveth day of the week (Saturday) is the Sabbath not the first day of the week (Sunday).

That is actually very true. The idea of Sunday worship was first asserted by Roman Catholic beliefs. They probably asserted they could do this by taking the scriptures in the new testament that teach that Gentile converts do not have to keep Jewish law. They believed Sunday was the "Sabbath" was "revealed" to them outside the Bible. This tradition was since passed down through generations and other churches and faiths within Christianity, regardless that nothing in the Bible teaches to observe Sunday worship.

I believe in NATURAL propagation of balance, AKA energy. I believe that massive amounts of energy can create matter (E=mc2). I believe that matter + billions of years of NATURAL selection = life. I BELIEVE all of those things because of the overwhelming empirical replicable scientific evidence and logic that proves them to be true.

Many would consider it a sub category of the seventh commandment.

well, since I don't follow a Judeo-Christian-Moslem type religion, these rules aren't in MY religion. its fine if they work for someone else and all. It is interesting, and someone else has already pointed it out, that rape isn't in there, neither is child abuse, or slavery...hmm makes you wonder about some peoples' priorities-
its okay to own a slave and molest your kid but don't pray to Hekate or sleep in on Sundays!

This guy named Bob, he was in the way; he had to go...:coolgleamA:

In Matthew 5, Jesus says that hate or anger is akin to murder.

"You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.' But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell."
