Haven't we supported the Catholic clergy and protected them? Haven't we elected any number of politicians found to be participating in illicit relationships, many of them republican and democrat who espoused that they were protecting the rights of the unborn? The only people we can't openly support under your premise are those that think that women are full human beings capable of reasonable thought and prepared to make decisions based on what's in the best interest of themselves and their families. I think women have an innate right to control their own bodies, better them than the men that might seek to exploit them.
