Like everyone knows, I take suboxone. I haven't even talked to my doctor yet about what i've been thinking about doing. So I thought I'd ask you guys. I was wondering if it would be okay for me to take xanax or valium while i'm on suboxone. Because, I've been have very bad problems here lately and I just want something to calm me down. I don't want to necessarily abuse the pills. I want to just take one and take the edge off of the nervousness and stress I have... I read on the internet that taking benzos with suboxone has a 78% kill rate. But I'm just trying to make sure thats absolutely correct.. Because someone I know told me that taking xanax with suboxone doesn't have any bad interactions.. And they take suboxone as well.
Shouldnt be an issue. I know its not exactly the same....but i pop Benzo's and im on Methadone. And everywhere i read, it says you shouldnt mix Methadone and Benzo's. I take mine for anxiety, but i also take the 2 combined to give me a high similar to the best Opiates . I would take a small amount (1mg or 2mg) and wait to see how it affects you. If you experience any prolonged CNS or respiratory depression (troubles breathing, troubles thinking and moving, etc.) call a doc, or better yet go to the Hospital. These are my thoughts on the matter. I would also check with the doctor who prescribed you the Suboxone.
Who are you talking to? EDIT: Nevermind, i understand the message now lol. So whats wrong with my suggestions? I take Benzo's maybe 1-2 times a month. If HippiexChild stays safe about it there shouldnt be problems. I dont see why my comments were so outrageous. And like i said, ask your Doctor too. Dont go off my suggestions alone obviously.

Well I mean, I want to take it to calm me down. I'm NOT going to get addicted. If I feel myself craving them alot, i'll stop it cold turkey. I just need something to take the edge off of all this stress and shit.
Keep that state of mind, and BE SAFE. I would still ask your Doctor before taking them though. See what an actual professional has to say.

Yeah they are verrrry dangerous, but they're also grrrreat lol!! Any Doctor is going to say what he/she is trained to say about mixing medications. The reality is, it all depends on the user and their tolerance. Just like does2 stated. To try and make things safer, when i first started taking Benzo's after being on Methadone, i would take them usually in the evening. Usually 8-10hrs after i drank my Methadone. This way the onset of the effects would be far far apart from eachother. These are MY experiences, but i cant tell you whats safe and whats not.
What i'm trying to find out is will it KILL ME to just take one a day. or something. Is it anymore dangerous then taking 1000mgs of DXM. Cause I used to do that everyday. What is taking suboxone and benzos compared to.
Well IMO, i dont think it will come even CLOSE to killing you. If you take one pill a day, i see it as almost impossible that you would die. Also, are you on Suboxone as a result of an Opiate addiction?? Or just recreational use?? If your on it because of an Opiate addiction, then i would assume you have experience with pills and having a tolerance. I have no idea how it matches up against DXM. But IMO, i dont think you will have any worries taking 1 pill a day. Sounds like youve never takin a Benzo before, right??
I'm on suboxone because of opiate addiction. And it has kept me clean for the longest time. Well, I've taken xanax twice and valium once recreationally. Xanax didn't do nothing to me and I took 3 footballs at one time. The only thing it did do was take the edge off my stress and make me calm. The valium did the same thing to me but I got a really warm fuzzy feeling from it. I couldn't get messed up off of either one of them for some reason. So thats why I didn't never care too much for them.
Well just from reading your experience, i dont see any danger in taking 1 a day. At all. Maybe take it a good while after your Suboxone, just to be sure at first. Dont take them often, for your own sake. Since you have had an Opiate addiction already, your chances of getting hooked on Benzo's is higher. Withdrawals are in many cases much worse, and more dangerous. So ONLY take them when you really need them. Also, is there nothing on the internet about mixing the two?? Maybe i'll have a look.
