It's a tube you fill up with water, stick it in your ass and squirt the water in. It sits for a while and then you shit it out. Do it once or twice and it will clean you out better than just taking a shit would. It's for those really clean people who want no chance of a mess during anal.
You can buy Fleet Enemas, which are single use enemas. These are a plastic ball, about the size of an apple, filled with a saline solution, attached to a nozzle, which you insert into the anus & inject the contents. However, you can easily make your own with something like an icing bag. Fill it with a warm soapy solution, ideally with some antiseptic disinfectant in. Insert the nozzle & gently squeeze the contents inside. Once you've emptied the contents into the anus, you should walk around to swill it around a bit & try to hold it in as long as possible before passing it out. Repeating the process can obviously increase the effectiveness.

Try reading what I wrote... The Fleet enemas contain a saline solution. Home made ones can use a warm soapy solution, ideally with some antiseptic / disinfectant.
