as the titles asks, does anyone have any decent veggie diets that are fiullon protein and help the growth and as well as to help maintain healthy muscles? note: i am also doing heavy body building excersies using a lot of heavy weights and such..and so i need heathy muscles.
I do not believe you will be able to do body building as a veggie without having to spend all of your money on suppliments and special powders. I believe a vegetarian diet while trying to body build would be extremely hard on and unhealthy for your body.
i disagree, now don't get me wrong i am not taking it to the level of 'pro' bodybuilding or looking like younger arnold... i am only 18, and i had done weight training before on a veggie diet, the only problem i noticed is a lack of a proper diet in order to maintain healthy muscles as well as to ad an extra boost in there growth (with the use of protein and similar foods that contain protein.) there is such thing as vegan body builders, look them up.
Oh, I know they exist.. You can also drive with your feet... it doesnt mean its a good idea.. I put on 15 pounds of muscle when i cut the veggies and do 1/4 of the excercise that i used to.
driving =/= weightlifting kenneth g williams, a great inspiration to vegan bodybuilders ( i am not vegan i am vegeterian) also how are any of your posts actaully helpful to my question? if you're here to argue about whether it's a good idea for a veggie to weightlift then you may be in the wrong thread, the point of this thread was me asking for help for veggie diets to help me with my weightlifting, i am not here to argue about MY lifestyle. you may thin i am being a dick, but serously i did not start this thread to argue about weightlifting. if you can't offer me a good diet then why are you posting in this thread? ps: thank you for the helpful people who have actauly posted in regards to my question.
Actually, I posted a question just now in the veggie forum, and am about to repost it in Deadbear's Gym about complete proteins and how to count the collective protein grams in a food-combination dish (rice/beans). I have a ton of dried beans and grains to cook with in my pantry and want to use them up while continuing my weight training regimen and building muscle myself. I am having trouble finding a resource about this online. As for a vegetarian source of protein, if you're not vegan I would go for whey protein, as it is one of the best and most high quality source of protein out there. I would try to buy a conscious brand of it with no growth hormones or antibiotics used on the cows. There are a few brands out there you can buy at the health food store where the dairy is sourced from quality farms. It's a might pricier, but much better quality. It's not intended to replace food protein, but to supplement what you consume. I use it after a workout to give my body something to start repairing/building the muscle after lifting, and it takes the edge off my post-workout hunger so I don't over-eat after.
