    Hi, omnivore here in peace.

If it didn't annoy actual vegetarians so much, I'd declare myself a "semi-veggie" because of my lifestyle and eating choices but, of course, there is no such thing. You're either a vegetarian/vegan or an omnivore and I can completely understand that viewpoint.

I respect vegetarians, for those who are veggies because of ethical reasons, you're standing by your principles and I applaud you for it. I've thought about it and have dabbled in it, but it's not for me. I can't say what I may do in the future, but at the moment, I feel I'm making a difference in my own small way.

One question, though, and I'm asking this to individual responders, I'm not asking anyone to speak on behalf of all vegetarians, because that would be ridiculous. Do you view all omnivores the same, or do you respect (even if you don't agree with) people such as myself who won't touch beef because of the environmental impact, buy "freedom foods", won't eat fish which are endangered because of overfishing and put a lot of ethical thought into what food I purchase and the impact it has on both the world and the animal's life?

I respect your choices - do you, personally, respect mine?

So you eat pork and chicken?

I respect that you take so much care in choosing what meat you eat, and you know where it comes from and suck alike.

I respect people who choose to eat meat and they know where it comes from. They know the impacts on the animal, the environment and the economy. And if thye still choose to eat it, thats fine with me. Its the arrogant meat eaters who say "animals were put on this earth for us to eat, so its ok", or they just think it comes from a plastic container. If they know nothing, and have no insight into anything about the meat or dairy industry, then I have no respect for them at all.

I would like to called myself a "semi-vegan" because in my diet I only eat 20% dairy. I don't drink milk, have eggs, or anything like that. I only have the small amounts in ready-made veggie food like veggie sausages or veggie lasagne. I have tried going vegan a couple of times but I find myself straining to find stuff to eat. As a semi-vegan/veggie, I have more freedom, and I find it easier to cook vegan stuff.. if that makes sense..

Anyway xD my ramble has nothing to do with your question but it might help with.. something. xD

I wouldn't call yourself a semi-veggie, but more something like an eco-meaty or soemthing. You eat meat, full stop.

Chicken, yes, definitely, but not much pork or lamb at all. That's more of a health thing than anything else, though.

Thanks for your response, appreciated. "Eco-meaty" - I quite like that!

I don't disrespect any omnivoure. So Yes I do respect you. I don't disrespect anyone for how they eat. Do I like the fact you still eat meat. No not really but honestly that is your choice to make. Not mine. I am glad you are not eating some meat but you still eat meat so I would not call you a vegetarian at all.
