Ive always wonderd how the entire thing of this works? please explaine, id rather hear it from some hipsters then some websites. Does it have to do with the location of the earth and the other planets at the time of birth? i dont understand how they give all these people these traits within this certian time frame and think all of them will be like that. How do they get the logic that the all the people born from this point to that point are all going to have have similar characteristics? please explaine how this entire thing workssss i find it interstingg.
The basic idea is the position of the planets and signs at the time and place of birth. What you are describing is basically pop astrology - the kind that you find in newspapers. I don't think it's very good astrology. I can say I NEVER say "all people of X sign are Y". That simply can't be true.
Any good astrologer will tell you, you must look at environmental, societal, religious, parental influences on any chart you have. Example: Sagittarius is considered to be the most promiscuous sign of the zodiac. So you have a couple of Sag placements in your chart. Someone may take a look at that and say: No thanks! You're too much of a risk! You'll be cheating on me all the time! Well, if you had a strict religious upbringing, that's going to influence that position in your chart. The temptation may always be there, but never realized. Or, you could project that onto your partner, attracting a promiscuous, cheating partner. Someone could look at your chart and see you have your Mars in one of those hair-trigger temper Mars signs like Sagittarius or Aries. A potential partner might think: No thanks! But perhaps you had parents who scolded you everytime you had a temper tantrum, and thus, they curbed that in you over the years and you learned to control your temper.
welll, you've gotta read a bit about it and also be a very astute observer of people close to you. ask people about their birthdays and draw up a chart for them. after doing this more than a few times you will know people better. just by relating their personality traits to a concrete set of parameters you will gain a set of tools. it helps for me to think about each sign as its symbol and mythological story.
