I agree it's no good - and I don't know that I'm excused with the "I didn't start it" - but I found her post very disrespectful to barefooter and non-barefooter forumers alike. Like you can't post in a thread if you don't have pro-like information on the subject +_+ That's what forums are for, to learn! Ahaha =D I shop there currently, while I'm a jobless college student. But when I'm financially independent - I'm outta there. Their prices are getting worse too.
A good invention nevertheless, but it robs you of the sensory experience that barefooting gives you. On the other hand, if I was looking for a pair of closed toed shoes these would be it. They do serve a purpose IMHO.
Again, you totally misunderstood me. I didn't say that and I would wear shoes before I would ever *consider* saying that. And people here should know that is saying something. Sometimes words on the forum, especially when there are people from many countries and cultures participating, get misunderstood (like 'being interested in barefooting' can mean different things, it seems you thought only of actually going barefoot but I definitely see talking about it as 'interested' too, even if you never put a bare foot on the ground outside the shower. Hell, even if you wear shower shoes you can be 'interested in going barefoot' and talk about it on the forum. ).
No, that's not what I thought. And I don't think what you're saying has anything to do with this argument at all.
That's crap... I'm the same thing, except no college, so for the rest of my life I'll be living off of a very small sum... and I can still manage to survive. You just need to take a look at what you have, what you don't need, and make some better decisions. Selling your soul isn't worth it.
No, I don't need to do shit. Thanks for the concern, but no thanks for the advice. I really don't feel I'm selling my soul, and I'm not so sure souls exist to be sold. I feel I am giving money to bad people - but I think other people (both bad and good) have put me in a position, where currently, that's my best choice. If you disagree, that's all and well - but preaching to people typically pushes them away - despite good intentions.
Unfortunately, the judgmental and condescending remarks made by the posters on this blog are typical. This is the type of prejudice we're all here to rally against.
Tried to post the following, but it's not showing up for me: While I agree that this guy is taking the lack of dress code a bit far to look good, I have to correct those folks who believe it is against Health codes to go barefoot in stores (or even all public places, as one comment said). I've been barefoot full-time for more than fourteen years (but dressed quite a lot better from the ankle up than this guy ); at work, stores, restaurants from fast food to fancy, museums, parks, offices, literally everywhere here in Europe (Netherlands, Scotland, Belgium), without ever any trouble. I've even done two job interviews barefoot and was hired both times! It's sad the US has such a bias against bare feet (even when you're wearing jeans or a skirt and shirt), and so many Americans believe there are laws against it. Even though I don't live in the US myself and there are no such signs on this side of the pond I've looked it up: the 'shoes required by the Health Department' thing is an urban legend, a myth. So, by the way, is the idea that driving barefoot is against the law. Please see http://www.barefooters.org/health-dept for more information -personal preference is one thing, but don't make up or spread myths to support your point of view! (is this comment showing up for anyone else on that page?)
if you're talking about posting comments on people of walmart, it takes 5-10 min. I posted on that picture too. He could have at least wore a shirt in there! I could go shopping barefoot, but never without a shirt!
