I have video files of DJ tiesto's Elements of life tour and it is the shit whilst off guts. Daft Punk, Skazi and Sphongle are also huge faves. Any other opinions??
well, i mean there are tons of stuffs i like to listen to while tripping. if your into techno though... armin van buuren is the shit. especially his 'a state of trance' DL some of his state of trance setlists. and then also... tiesto pretty lights crystal castles paul okenfold big gigantic markus shulz and ferry corsten is the shit also. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2thvOsXqcBs&feature=related but imo aside from techno nothing really tops the grateful dead. once you start listening to it while your tripping it's like how could someone ever listen to anything else? moe. is also great, and phish, and pink floyd, the doors, ghostland observatory, and tool definitely is up there with some of the best tripping music ever, john lennon, the beatles, MGMT, perpetual groove. hell man, there are so many great tripping bands. this also has to be the millionth time this thread had been made.
I've been loving this track off the new Shpongle album... Shpongle - Walking Backwards Through The Cosmic Mirror https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBnpOSexsF0 I love this for a bit of a darker vibe too. Also, reppin' South London, haha. Burial - Southern Comfort https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ptx3PTOwDA4
I used to be convinced that Shpongle was the best tripping music, but that changed when I listened to Kind of Blue by Miles Davis. Jazz seems to be the most incredible music while tripping, so organic, each instrument brings a different voice and personality when they take a solo. Umphrey's McGee is also pretty awesome.
Pretty Lights is the shit caught one of his shows the other week on some wow and had a great time. BassNectar however is King i went all out for this one and ate like 5 and was seriously spun out.
Sweet guys. Thanks for the input. I love techno n psytrance whilst trippin n have to say I haven't realy explored other genres of music while in that altered state of mind. Time to change it up a bit though I think As for it being the millionest ' best trippin music' thread, my apologies. - am new to the forums n did not realise. Thanks again for the input anyway guys -Peace
Goa Gil depending where you are he throws a great gathering every may in Asheville. He plays 24+ hour dj sets
anything on a record player, but more specifically i'm a fan of the staples of psychedelic themes, the beatles/hendrix/floyd. more recently i'v been listening to world music, things from africa, india and mexio, and these are definitely making large impressions on me.
Agreed with shpongle Divine moments of truth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qt2WbfotkU Beautiful...
^^^^for real with all this techno shit? thats rolling time. tripping is alll jam band. save the techno when im wired lol
Jambands are awesome too, I love tripping to Phish or SCI or Bisco, but bands like sts9 or bassnectar are good too
Wtf? I have heard the first part of this song somewhere before. I can't for the life of me remember where i heard it. Pretty awesome. I'm all about HOUSE MUSIC!
for electronic sounds to really trip out: Fuck Buttons. more specifically the Tarot Sport album. the Street Horrrsing album would give me a bad trip easily. If anyone tries this music out, message me and tell me what u think for non electronic, my fav is Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. everything completely makes sense with it playing. and for me it seems like things always react coincidentally with the music when tripping. its fun
Full orchestra classical, like some Mozart can't be topped. String instruments can pull emotions from so deep inside you as you hear every vibration of a violin string. Actually beats the snot out of any sound electrically produced. If you have never tried classical while tripping, try it, you'll like it.
Actually, when my friends dad was giving us a ride to go mountain biking, we were already tripping pretty hard, so we get in his huge ass truck, and classical music was playing. It fit the situation so perfectly it seriously was one of the funniest things in my life. It's hard to explain, just his truck was so clean, and the front of it was so proportional and huge with a light brown color, I diddn't even realize that my friend was cracking up about the same thing, when we started biking he was like that was fuckin hilarious, and he described it as good as possible saying something like "it was like the perfect lsd enviroment". God i want to be able to put it into words so bad it was so fucking amazingly funny. But that's all it was was hilarious, if i want to fully enjoy music for getting into than i will listen to crazy shit.
Try listening to some classical music tripping with headphones on, lights out, laying down eyes closed. Different experience completely. But I prefer music without any lyrics when tripping, that way the pictures the music paint are guided by the music and my mind, not the words I'm hearing. I listen to a wide variety while tripping depending on mood. But for painting pictures in my mind, classical is the shit. Also try Frank Zappa's Apostrophe. Classic
