Busted.....help!!!!

Well i was busted with 2.5 grams of marijuana and now I am waiting on a court date.....This fucks up my plan to move to cali from this shit hole called Georgia.....but if anyone has any advise on how i can get my charges droped or even to the smallest charge

I know some places you can go through a first offense program where if you complete it then you can get your charges dropped. The program was easy as fuck when I did it. It's gotta be a misdemeanor though. I'm pretty sure 2.5 gs is a misdemeanor, am I correct?

It depends when you were planning on moving. IF you were thinking like 6 months down the line, you should be alright as long as they don't hit with heavy fines or something. However, if you were planning on moving, like, tomorow, i'd say just run and never look back.

my bro got caught with 5.5 gs and went to court but the charges were dropped.

just dress nicely for court.

Imprisonment for not less than five nor more than thirty years.

Sell or Intent to Distribute (Second Offense)
Imprisonment for not less than ten nor more than forty years OR life imprisonment.

What are the programs and how do i get in touch with them?

 

it depends. i know some states have different options for a conditional discharge for first time small posession. what you want to do is opt for a conditional discharge which will more than likely be some kind of probation sentence- when you complete it the charges get dropped.

(some states have drug treatment programs- but i think you could do a probation sentence still if you'd rather do that for a marijuana charge)

so basically tell your lawyer that you want a conditional discharge and he will ask the judge for such. if you don't have a lawyer- go pro-se and do the same thing.

its first time, and small amount, so im sure you will get it dropped after some probation.
