My roommates just gave me a free bike and I'm thinking about turning it into a rasta bike or just going all out and splashing a shit ton of colors on it, aaand put glow in the dark stuff on it. I'm gonna me a drivers nightmare
free bike! that's awesome as hell haha. i need a bike i think you should paint it all different colors!
lol So, my roomie went with me to my friend's to pick up. I locked my bike next to this other one. He instantly tells me to call our other roomie about something on the wheel they might need. I'm thinking, they better not fuck with this random person's bike. Anyway, we go in and he leaves after he gets his stuff and I stay and chill with my friend.About an hour or so later, I go out to my bike and the fucker really took this person's front wheel. I feel bad for this person. I'm sue karma will get them back. I really hope the bike they gave me wasn't stolen.Although, it is kinda rusted.I just don't know how you can manage to go to bed at night knowing you just fucked up someone's day.
Thats pretty harsh to steal someones front wheel, what goes around comes around.I would throw somekind of paint on the bike if you got it from the same person.
The wheel was there when I locked by bike up. I locked it to the same pole as that bike.I came home and asked him and he said, "sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do"............
yayyy my brother nad i stole our bikes from someone's trash they were trying to sell it but we said nope and someone spray painted mine, i got hte big one, and my brother just left his normal. he has a flat tire now and wont get a new one
Lol, did the spray paint stay on? My roomie said I'd have to sand the hit out of it if I wanted to paint it, without any chipping going on.
Sweet to hear you got a free bike. Sucks that you are aquainted with tire theifs, happened to me once, they stole my handlebars too. I wasn't so mad though, I figure karma will handle that, and I learned my lesson, I incorporate my front tire in the lockup, I am sure the owner of that bike will learn as well. Might want to ask a bike mechanic what the best paint is for the job. Happy trails.
To correctly paint it yeah you should remove the old paint then use primer and paint but for this I'm sure a little spray paint action will work just fine and you can always touch it up later if it chips. Free bikes are awesome, neighbors of mine had some awesome old cruisers out for free a couple weeks ago but I was running late for work and couldn't grab them in the morning. Of course they were gone on my way home from work.
