It's about this time of year that I start getting very hostile towards the religion of Christianity. It's because of it that I'm forced to listen to the worst music ever created, all because of the stupid birthday of their god. I just wanted to apologize in advance in case I come in here, responding to a post, and am overly hostile. It's nothing personal, it's the Christmas music that's doing it.
O holy night, The stars are brightly shining it is the night of our dear saviors birth. FALLLLLLLL OOON YOUR KNEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!! OH HEEEEAAARRR THE ANGEEELLLSSS VOOOOIIIIIIIICCCEEESSSSS OH NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT, DIIIIIIIIIIVIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEE ahem sorry surely you must love some of them? i wait all year just to hear the christmas carols...well...spaceman came traveling, o holy night....mary did you know....bethlehem.....nbow bethlehem is an amazing one.... in fact i actually have a christmas carol as a ringtone all year.... *spots trippinBTM throwing stones*
i understand your pain. christmas music has to be the most annoying music ever created. though, if you want to listen to some good christmas music, look for some bob rivers. he parodys songs, and has done some to a christmas theme, like: jingle hells bells, chipmunks roasting on an open fire, walking round in womens underwear, and i am santa clause (iron man parody)
I wanna get down on my knees and start praisin' ya Jesus, I wanna feel your salvation all over my face.
You wanna know something cool about xianity? Read revelation. All those who worship the first creature are gonna be toasted. (First creature being christ). God want's people to worship God, not christ. So all these morons worshiping christ are gonna get killed. Gotta love xians...
Wow...well, hey, if you're giving, I'm recieving! Anyways, there are a few I like. O holy night isn't bad, the one by BNL is alright, and there's some others that are ok. But, (and it's a big but), of all christmas songs, 99% suck ass, hardcore. And working in retail, guess what I get to listen to all day, everyday? That's right, the same 20 shitty songs. Because radio stations forget what variety means, and also what quality means (goddam you clearchannel *shakes fist* ). Work sucks enough as it is, this makes it much, much worse. So again, I apologize if I spaz out in the future.
I always felt out of place in church and eventually developed an outright anxiety towards it. Church is where I typically heard christmas music, so, I suppose, I don't like christmas music because it brings about nausea and anxiety in me.
So this is Christmas - John Lennon. I used to cry every time I heard that damn song for maybe 20 years after Dec. 8, 1980. I have struggled with my own distaste for the whole abomination that is modern xmas. The santa version, and the nativity one. They both drag me down for some reason. I wonder if it is the materialism, greed, commercialization, pontification, gawdiness, seething hordes of stressed out shoppers, and hypocrisy? Could just be the short daylight hours.
christmas music iritates the hell outa me! and im xtian, reason i h8 chrstmas is coz its all about spending money u cant afford to jsut to hav momentary ahppiness.......ppl forget the real meaning of it
I hear you man, the greed and materialism of this season really kills me. The shopping madness is why I hate this season. Even as a non Christian, I wish the holiday focused on Jesus. At least that's people trying to be better, rather than fighting over the last elmo doll or bitching about an expired coupon. A religious-spiritual holiday would be infinitely better than a consumerist holiday; even if it isn't something I personally believe in.
It gets annoying when the radio stations play christmas music before Thanksgiving. Easy enough to turn the station tho. But when stores start playing it to soon is worse..good thing I don't go shopping very often
hyeheheh!!! poor u *rubs hed* christmas song irratate me, its like ska punk, that makes me iritable aswell
like............... give examples my music knowlege is limited to classic rock and a few old skewl punk bands and andean music
old school punk then you gots to love the clash, and they did some reggae tunes and probly were the first band to get punk to listen and embrace reggae and ska, but i mean real ska like the really really early Bob Marley, derick morgan, desmond decker, early Jimmy Cliff. the skatalites and bands like that, the only good british ska band really, were the specials. i can't stand madness they were horific!
silent night holy night all is calm all is bright round yon virgin mother and child. ahem.....what pray tell is a xtian and how might one go about pronouncing that?
I agree, the nativity version of christmas at least has some meaningful spiritual basis. The war toys, excess alcohol consumption, and hypocrisy of 'giving' while 10's of 1000's of kids starve to death every single day is what bugs me. Feliz Navidad, amigo.
