This shit is true. I was about 16 years old and lived in a small town in N.C. It was a rough small town. Me and about 8 of my friends from the neighborhood were at an older guys trailer smoking and drinking and being loud. I had a broken arm and was wearing a cast. The cops showed up and I stuffed the weed (the only weed in the house) down in my cast. The cops are acting like assholes, telling everyone to shutup and...well, I am sure most of you know how most cops are. So I start telling everyone they don't have to be quiet, it is there right to speak if they want, etc etc. I was drunk and cops always piss me off. Anyways, one of the cops finally grabs me by the arm and walks me to the door. As soon as the door is closed behind him he throws me down a small flight of stairs. Nothing serious, I land on my feet. Then he throws me on to the hood of the police car and starts searching me. I am talking shit the whole time. He keeps asking me where the weed is and saying he knows I have it so where is it? I talk shit the entire time and eventually end up in the back of the cop car. Finally, the other cop comes out of the house and they take me back to the police station. It is a small town and it is empty. Literally just me and the two cops in the entire station. I am sitting in a chair and they are talking to me and trying to gather info and the whole time I am talking more shit, What did I do? Why am I here? Fuck you, I dont give a fuck. ANYWAYS, one of them finally got fed up and told me that if I didnt shut the fuck up he would..."plant a crack rock on me" and take me to the next town over which had the nearest jail and magistrate. He was dead serious. I believed him and I shut the fuck up. Eventually they called my mom and had her pick me up, no charges. They never found the weed and that shit tasted so good later that night!
Hahaha beastly. Sounds like they should have you on an episode of cops rather then the usual drunken idiot just talking shit and humiliating themselves. but you my friend talked your shit, and got nothing but a great story! Good stuff dude
personally, i fail to see how being a belligerent punk to cops, being taken to the police station, and risking the possibility of jail time is "fucking epic", when all you probably had to do was calmly and respectfully deny the allegations and exercise your right to not say anything you don't legally have to, and you would have been on your way. i think you just wasted your own time by going out of your way to be an ass when you could have been home, stress free smoking more weed the whole time. just my thoughts is all...
Wow live a little. It's said and done, nothing happened. He can look back at it with a smile and no the only thing that happened was he had a few hours of his evening takin away from him. But at the same time, pissed off the piggies like they do to us.
perhaps we'll have to agree to disagree, but that is by no means what i consider "living a little". skydiving and bunjee jumping are living a little. hiking and camping in alaska or the grand tetons are living a little. smoking weed in the comfort of my own home with friends is living a little. having rampent sex with my wife in my boss's office is living a little. rafting the grand canyon is living a little. risking jail time for no other purpose than to "piss off the piggies" is, well, stupid in my mind. no judgment, just my opinion.
Damn bro, I was 16. I didn't know shit about correct procedures and besides any dumbass who believes they can excercise thier rights in front a cop has obviously not seen the ugly side of these things. Yes, I was being a punk, but does that in any way excuse the police officers who would blatantly break thier own laws just to shut up a punk kid. The saddest thing of all is that most people share your twisted views. I should have been nicer to the cops not the other way around. Punk kids need to be taught lessons by tough guys with badges and the authority to do so. Ridiculous and it is this type of thinking that is partially responsible for the corruption of our justice system.
i totally agree with monsterman. you think being a punk and mouthing off drunk is gonna do anything? if you really want to change the system, no ones gonna take a bunch of yelling and swearing seriously. if you want to make a change, why would you risk your freedom like that over something so small? if you're gonna mouth off at least do it at a protest or somewhere your voice is going to matter a little bit more. fight the system responsibly and with some sense!
Why are you guys making a big deal of this? He said he was 16 and you are like criticizing and nit picking at a reasonably interesting story. You people are too cowardly to stick up for yourself. Besides we don't really have enough information about the whole event to make a detail judgment about this matter. Yes you should be careful with the police because in effect they are dangerous, but its true they are bullies and often misuse their power significantly. I certainly found it interesting to hear a story where somebody stuck them the finger a little.
Hey idiots...the point of the story is the crack rock. He would have done it. My young life would have been over all because I had a little too much to drink and was mouthing of to the cops. Things like this happen all time and when you start to have the mentality that it is the 16 year old kids fault you accept the fact that corruption exists in our police force. You give up on the idea of justice and settle for a much more primative way. Anyways just wanted to share my experience, I have actually had many more episodes with the dark side of the law but I will save those for another time. Peaceinthestreets and cybergenesis thanks for saying something to these douches. I bet they are in the police force or are related to a pig.
ultimately, this is a chicken and egg problem, and we clearly disagree which came first. you say people should give cops hell to rise up against their unlawful ways of enforcing the law. i say cops are assholes (generally speaking) because they have to deal with punk ass kids, like yourself when you were 16, on a daily basis. so the question then is who needs to give in so that the other is 'nicer'. i think you're delusional to think that being a punk to cops is anywhere close to productive in terms of fixing corruption in our justice system. in fact, i'd argue it only fuels the corruption. on the other hand, if you calmly and respectfully exercise the rights that you have, then two things will come out of it: first, the cop will almost certainly be more likely to be respectful to you (remember respect is a two way street), and second, if the cop does break the law somehow then you can fight this is court with a lawyer and likely come out ahead. no judge would ever listen to your case as your described it in your original post. ever heard the saying, "anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law"?? notice the key word AGAINST. nothing you say to a cop can help you in the court of law, it can only hurt you. there are many ways to stand up against authority and the government. you can vote, you can join organizations that lobby for reform, you can write letters to your local representative, mayor or congressman, you can join protests, you can hire lawyers, you can write opinion articles in your local news paper, you can get a job in the political arena, etc. being a punk to cops is, in my opinion, no means to this end, and frankly only adds fuel to the fire that you are trying to put out.
the crack rock came later, didnt it? like, after all of your drunk yelling and screaming? that threat is obviously fucked up. cops are assholes when they do that kind of stuff. so why would you knowingly feed into that bs? they love when they have an excuse to do that shit because of some idiot kid that doesnt know when to shut up. the best thing you can do is to let them know you are completely familiar with YOUR rights and youre not going to let THEM step all over that. theres a useful, effective way to fight the system, and a stupid way. its a good story, and im glad it all worked out in the end. the reason i even jumped in on this was because you said "oh, i was just young so thats why i did it" but then you continued to defend your point. i just dont see how you can STILL think that how you acted was a good way to handle the situation, is all. it wasnt.
You don't get what it is I'm saying do you? I'm not arguing against his standing up to the cops. Quite the contrary in fact. The point I am making, to state in plain and simple terms, is that the WAY in which he tried to stand up to authority was pointless, and only fuels the fire he is trying to put out. No one is making a big deal out of this. The OP posted a story, and in doing so was looking for opinions and responses to the matter. I offered my opinion in response, and have defended it. If he doesn't like it, then he shouldn't have posted it originally. NBD. if that was the center piece of your story, then why did you only mention it in what was nearly the last sentence of a post the clearly emphasizes how much you tried to stick it to them with your belligerence? EXACTLY. OP: notice that as soon as you said "I shut the fuck up", the cops let you go? That's because you exercised your right to be silent. the reason they threatened you like the way they did is because they KNEW a judge would never side with you in court because of what a belligerent asshole you were to them. in a he said/he said type of legal battle, acting the way you did would have landed you in jail for possession of crack and a judge would have supported it because he'd have to choose between a punk ass kid with no respect for anyone, or a couple of cops with decades of law enforcement under their belts. but instead you walked free, certainly because you shut your mouth and in doing so told them you had constitutional rights that they cannot, under any circumstances, violate. and when a cop is put in a situation where he can't throw you under the bus because you are innocent, calm, cool, respectful and using the rights you deserve as an american citizen, then you've won the battle.
Wow. CherokeeMist and monsterman68 have obviously no idea what assholes cops can be. The guy was 16...remember? "this is not the best way to be productive in fighting the system yada yada" 16 people. Yea we know mouthing off to the cops is not going to help your situation but it is funny afterward! skydiving and bunjee jumping is stupid in my mind. Fucking with the pigs and getting away with it? Awesome. I have zero sympathy for vice cops. Here is a lil' (less exciting) tale: When I was 16 I had yet to even get drunk yet (not till 19 1/2). I was driving with 2 of my friends on my way to drop one of them off. He lives out in the boonies and he says there is a shortcut through some old dirt roads. I stupidly let my friend drive and he starts fishtailing my minivan and we almost crash. We are all sober btw. This is at night and after the near crash we turn off the car and get out to check and see if everything is cool. A cop car rolls up and immediately wants to search the car with no cause at all. Then he displays a crack pipe and says "look what I found". I drove a lot of friends around and I knew at least one smoked pot and I was thinking it was his pipe. I was freaked out. The cops fucked with us for awhile and then after 5 minutes told us that the pipe was found across town. Fucking Assholes...and back then I was a clean-cut kid too. You don't have to be a punk...you just have to be around when they want to fuck with someone.
I'm speechless to know that some people consider being an antagonizer and instigator at someone else's expense is the pinnacle of their life's excitement. not saying i love cops myself because i certainly distrust them as must as the next person, but getting your thrills in such ways was something people did in middle school and grew out of in high school. well, most of us at least.
Monster - there is no way we will agree. In one of your posts you were saying cops are generally assholes becuase they have to deal with punk kids. I think the police force attracts a lot of assholes. Like I said, no sympathy for fascist vice cops.
