I know if you swallow or snort it will show up on a drug test. But I know 2 people, one person on parole that smokes oxycontin and gets tested and he hasn't had a test come back positive. I also know a girl who was on probation and she would smoke oxycontin and her tests never came back positive as well. Does anyone know why this is? Will it or will it not show up on a drug test if it is smoked?
Probably the reason they are passing their test is because it is just an opiates test and not one specifically for oxycodone. Most of the tests that have a stick that says opiates just test for morphine and codeine metabolites which most of oxycodone does not break down into. But if it is a test that is for oxycodone then yes it will show up, if it is absorbed in your bloodstream then it can be detected.
What spiral said. Oxy is synthesized from thebaine and standard drug tests only check for morphine (which codeine, heroin, and raw opium will show in abundance), so unless the testing place is actively searching for oxycodone your friends should be in the clear. That said, enough oxy will provide enough residual morphine in one's system to test positive, but I don't know how much is 'enough.'
