I have been on this quest to try and work out exactly what I felt. I will try my best to keep this short. Has anyone ever experienced a moment of pure epiphany. You feel infinite. You feel enlightened. you feel as though you are "in on the joke". You become one with everything. You realize you are part of everything. There is endless ways for me to define this. But it is those moments that you can comprehend everything, all of existence, what life is. A moment of pure understanding. I have spent months talking to people, and very few people seem to understand what I am talking about. Other people have said I have no other way to describe it. Please share with me your explanations, definitions or ways of describing this feeling Thanks Michael
I think I can relate to what you are talking about. Probably about ten times in my life I have had this feeling. Usually the length of time could be measured in seconds, once for a couple of minutes (euphoric and memorable). I relate the feeling to the Buddhist description of being in the moment or being present in the now. You might be interested in checking out the book, "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. He also has many youtube videos if you want to give him a quick look. I have too much to say about this, but briefly, I would like to experience it more often and trying to find it is sort of anti productive. Metaphorically, I say to myself, "I am going into that room and turn on the light". What I need to realize is that we are always standing in bright light with our eyes closed. Open your eyes!
The way you just said that was unbelievably perfect. I will take a look at that book, thanks so much for your response. It means a lot to me. Your last comment was an amazing quote. Thankyou so much
It is those things that we think we would prefer to see, that cast a shadow over what is there, plainly to behold.
One of his students asked Buddha, "Are you the messiah?" "No", answered Buddha. "Then are you a healer?" "No", Buddha replied. "Then are you a teacher?" the student persisted. "No, I am not a teacher." "Then what are you?" asked the student, exasperated. "I am awake", Buddha replied. there are few people that can say they are awake and really know what they are saying...
I experienced this feeling on LSD, which is why I am really confused. There was nothing like it. But people are telling me I am just thinking into acid too much. But it really wasn't "just another trip". In that moment, I had nothing but absolute clarity.
Yes! An irrefutable experience of primal harmony and grace, a unity rooted in the simple fact that your existence is, in every meaningful way, identical with all existence. The challenge is to realize all of this without compromising your inherent consciousness in exchange for temporary chemical shortcuts.
Yes, you can experience this feeling if you pay attention, if you take you care of yourself and of your surrounding, if you love, wich is also called meditation.
