Soo.. there's this girl. Anyway, she's cool n shit and I like her, but at the same time, she can be annoying as fuck. She's constantly giving me shit about smoking cigarettes. Seriously. I don't go a day without hearing something about it. It's getting old as fuck. I told her I'd quit by november and didn't and so she basically said she can't trust me because I "lied". I mean, really? I told her how hard it is to quit and how much I want to, but at this point in my life, I really can't. I can't stand being constantly bitched at. Certainly isn't motivating me to quit. I'm not going to change my lifestyle in order to please her. I don't want to end what could be a good relationship over something so stupid as this. But despite constantly asking her to just leave me alone about it, she won't let off. I want a girlfriend not a fucking mother. God dammit, I need a smoke..
lol i feel you on this one. just tell her to get over it, you shouldn't stop smoking cigarettes just to be with her. be yourself and don't let some chick try to change you, fuck that. she's gunna say she hates it but just keep doing your thing
Hah. I'm not sex-depraved. Just can't seem to have a relationship with anyone. too hardcore with my cigs i guess
lol talk about drama. the girl should know "what you see is what you get" obviously she doesnt if she annoys you now, if you ever "quit" your smoking, shes gonna annoy you to quit another habit SHE doesnt like
Many people greatly dislike cigarettes and with good reason. For example, if she doesn't smoke, and you do, and you keep smoking, and you're with her often, she will also smell like cigarettes constantly. Or maybe someone in her family had lung cancer
screw that dude, quit if you want to but only if you really want to. cigs arent the best habit but its a personal choice. never let anyone push you to do something. if she doesnt like it then you should find someone else. and tell her to stop bitching
I use to smoke.. still do when i drink sometimes.. just can't help it... my GF right now smokes.. and i nag her all the time about it... being in a relationship.. especially if you want it to be long term... requires sacrifices... it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to quit.. or at least try...
its a personal choice i guess...but to me asking someone to quit cigs, is like asking someone to quit smoking weed. ive dated smokers and non smokers and ive never asked them to quit, it's their choice and their body and doesnt really bug me.
If someone cares about you they're not going to particularly like watching you wreck your health. I can appreciate the difficulty with quitting cigs though- I quit 23 years ago and it wasn't at all easy but it can be done. The best advice I can give IF you want to quit is to do it and tell NO ONE until after a few weeks of not smoking. Making your intentions public puts unnecessary pressure on you... there will always be one or two people intent on sabotaging your efforts.
eh... i don't really think cigs and marijuana are comparable.. do you compare them on any other level? most marijuana advocates do not... If you are looking for a long term partner, would you not want them to be in the best physical shape they could be in? So that they live a healthy life.. and you can live long together? Also lets say the relationship goes further into say marriage.. would you want to marry someone who could possibly end up in the doctors office because of their smoking problems.. technically now.. this is not their problem.. its your problem as well.. because you and your significant other are thought of as one when it comes to family health insurance.. medical bills.. etc...
Even though 20-21 is still young, this is at the point where people are looking for more of a relationship then just fucking around, and being around someone who smokes is not only annoying when you don't smoke but they also have to watch you kill your health (and I say this as someone who still quasi smokes) Cigarettes are great, but love is better. Also, the whole "at this point in my life I'm not ready to quit cigarettes" do you think it's going to be easier in 8 years? Look at people who quit when they're young, they just get all bitchy when they want a cigarette. People who have smoked for 10-15 years act like they're coming off heroin.
