i know there was a thread not too long ago on long term storage but my question is slightly different, because i'm not preparing for storage, i'm just wondering if how it has been stored should be okay...

i've had some fully dried mushrooms in a plastic sandwhich bag (which may or may not have been totally sealed) and that was inside a glass jar with a screw on lid. this jar has been in a drawer at normal room temperature for many months, probably about a year, i can't remember for sure.

anyway the pieces are all really hard, but should they still be okay? i'm going to look closely for anything that looks unusual but if nothing looks different, should i be cool to eat them?

i probably have like 2 grams at most anyway so i'm going to do a lemon tek or tea which should soften them enough to go down easy enough.

there is no telling sometimes how old shrooms may be when you acquire them from street deals..
    years maybe..

    thanks for the replies!

good to know. they were really well dried when i got them so i think, if anything, they'll just need to be softened up a bit and they'll be good to go. i don't think there's any fungus on them. and i'm sure the jar helped.

I ate shrooms that had been vacusealed for about a year and a half and only ate a half eighth and tripped bawls the whole night!

The psilocin content will probably be slightly lower than it was a year ago as it's pretty unstable but they should definitely still be worth eating. Enjoy. :)

I don't think that most mushrooms that you buy are more than a few weeks old. YMMV, but I've never bought mushrooms that were really cracker-dry. All of them had a little give to the stem, although not much.

Perfect storage. They will be almost as strong as they were pre-storage. Enjoy!

i actually haven't bought any mushy in a while... but there was once I founds 2 stems on the floor behind my dresser, they had to be 5+ yrs old...
if they was anyways near a gram together id be surprised., they practically turned to dust.. granted low tol, and there was some visual effects, but really profound auditory hallucinations, which i thought was weird..[IMG]
