right well i moved to swansea(south wales) about 2months ago to live with my bf. i love it here thing is i dont know anyone really and i have no job and cant seem to get on so i spend pretty much every day stuck in the house cleaning and cooking. i dont mind cooking and i know the cleaning has to be done but i feel like im playing house wife and thats just not who i am. i cant wait to get started on the garden but as u all know, there's not much to do growing-wise this time of year. i literally have £0 and my mountaine bike is in the west midlands at my mom's house so i cant go off riding somewhere. im so bored and its getting me down and then when paul (my bf) comes home he just wants to eat and chill- he is a postie so works stupid hours. im not a huge people person so i dont mind being on my own...i just wish i had somehting to do other than keep the house in order and read/go online. ive come from a houseing co-op in west yorkshire and was very active politically and i miss it but there doesnt seem to be the same kind of people down here. i spoak to this guy on facebook the other day who does some GG but paul didnt seem too impressed cus it was a guy and id be off out during the night and bla bla bla... i dont drink so going to pubs isnt really an option and i think im the only hippy in the whole city so i really really need some ideas on what i can fill my day with. theres no point planing the wedding as he wants to get married in 2 years. i dont see the point in waiting its not going to change anything and hes 100% sure he wants to marry me so i dont understand and it wont take that long to save for our little wedding but hey. love u all x
Hi Ica, Don't be a housewife. Break that now before it sets in (which happens easily) When the gardening is done you'll find some other little thing to keep you occupied and let you forget for a while that your personal life is becoming hollow. Don't give up on the job front, it will come. It's tricky when you're in a new place and don't know anyone, but set yourself up with new things. And dance arty: Regards, Keith Ps. Hi Ica, have you thought of doing some voluntary work? there may be a volunteer bureau in Swansea, or the library may have resources of organisations who need help. usually there's loads of different types of organisation looking for volunteers, so you should hopefully find one you're interested in. it can also help in getting paid employment if you've done some volunteering. hope that helps, JT
