Light is electromagnetic radiation, particularly radiation of a wavelength that is visible to the human eye. This defines it as a part of the physical dimension.

Perfect way to put it :)

I think the land of spirits is a land of choices/experiences/feelings...its the time in between events that requires their 'travel' but to them no time had past and it is just two places that lie side by side...like a dream sequence,

    how fast is a dream?

Well, if you are a dualist (which I would assume you would be if you believed in spirits,) then it would be safe to assume that spirits traveling faster than the speed of light is possible. Since the mind is a substance which has different properties than the physical, there is no need for the mental to adhere to the laws of the physical. In fact most dualists would expressly claim that the mental and the physical operate according to two separate sets of laws, even though the two can interact with each other. I would assume that spirits are somehow a manifestation of mind, or at least perhaps an aspect of it, then spirits would not necessarily have to act according to the laws of the physical, and thus would not necessarily have to obey the speed of light speed limit.

it is interesting to wonder what limitations to spirits have that is analagous to the speed of light.

Yes!! There is that famous use of explanation in the Berkeley Physics Course; Vol. 1. Space itself is a spiritually FORMED guide for optical direction, which to Newton was the existing determined ( or determined existing) RAY. Of course, Huygens later determined later rays to be superposition in any direction for actual energy propagation. Light actually travels mechanically. So from the centre the ray, OR guide to measure the electric field upon the magnetic field interacting, to the edge of reducing intensity of the flux measured the signal for knowledge is instantaneous. Daaa.aah.

speed involves distance. but what if all spacial dimentions appeared as a single vector as time does in the frame of reference we call cartesian space that surrounds us.

now we have local in the dimentions of time being nonlocal in the dementions of space, so why not demintions of spirit, being in that same relation to those of both time and space, that is to say, that in the spirit frame of reference both appear only as their vectors, just as time, and dare i say it, spirit, appear in 'ours'.

being nonlocalized makes discussions of speed kind of apples and oranges.

How do we know if spirits even exist? It is impossible for anyone to answer this question without guessing, because no one truly knows.
