And these were done while listening to jazz (song that was playing is listed under the picture) Giant Steps by John Coltrane Freddie Freeloader by Miles Davis Straight, No Chaser by Thelonious Monk and Blue Rondo A La Turk by The Dave Brubeck Quartet Stars Fell on Alabama by Louis Armstrong
Jump Jive An' Wail by Brian Setzer Orchestra Minnie The Moocher by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Budo by Miles Davis Keep the Customer Satisfied by The Buddy Rich Big Band Central Park West by John Coltrane I've never really done much drawing, I can't really draw that well. But I kinda like all these, I just like that each one was done with a very specific intent, and the song that was playing really had a lot to do with how the picture was drawn... you can see the differences between the first 4 that were drawn while listening to Animal Collective and the last 6 that were jazz. Anyone else want to post some artwork they've done while tripping?
well the most important question is, WHICH animal collective in particular were you listening to? i LOVE them, though. most if not all of their CDs.
recently i'm into spirit they've vanished. closely followed by kids on holiday. but purple bottle is really good, feels is one of the best i think.
I have three albums on my itunes (Feels, Merriweather Post Pavilion, and Water Curses) and i just had it on shuffle, listened to all three albums over the course of the first half of my drawings (I didn't upload all of the pictures I drew, just the ones that were my favorites/most interesting)
Nice. I was listening to Merryweather Pavillion last night, what a trip. Drawing on lsd is something else. Jazz must be incredible! Have never tripped and listened to jazz, not that its inherently different than jam band stuff.
very nice! i like drawings on just normal lined paper. the simplicity is beautiful. and animal collective is amazing
my friend introduced me to merriweather post during my first heavy acid trip, i listened to it later and it wasn't anything like i thought at first! but it's still incredible either way just out of interest, for people who draw when they're sober as well, do you notice a huge difference in what you're trying to "do"? or what ends up on the paper versus your sober work? is there anyone that doesn't really do art normally but tend to find yourself wanting to pick at a guitar or paint when tripping?
OMG, wut? Jazz on LSD is AMAZING. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqZQI9YYGZI Listen to Clipper by Portico Quartet the next time you trip. Eargasm guaranteed.
like i said, I would never draw like that sober. haha drawing while tripping was just so cool, cause i could just see so many lines and they were all moving and shit.
Classical is my favorite when tripping, especially the string instruments. You can feel every vibration of the strings in the core of your being, at least thats how it is for me.
